Guest User: Great location and friendly owner. I got this place because of the location & affordable price. This homestay also allowed you to try the traditional custome for free. What's surprise me is the free gift ( one bottle of fresh homemade chrysanthemum) after the check out. Worth the visit and nice ambiance. The design also great.. I called the homestay via trip.com call to inform them before my arrival and they can arrange someone to pick me at the entrance. The owner also can arrange for me on the next day send off to train station. I'm so satisfied with the arrangement and human touch of this homestay.

Guest User: A beautiful stay in Hongcun with the sweetest owners, would highly recommend, especially for foreigners! The room were super cute with a great clean bathroom and even had a small balcony. We were warmly welcomed by the owners upon arrival with local snacks and drinks (super yummy). The owner also gave us detailed introductions to the area and how to best explore, even on how to book tickets for other local experiences like Huangshan etc. My chinese isn’t the best but the owners were so nice andpatient in explaining and answering questions. They even provided us with a recommended taxi driver to get to Huangshan the next day via car pool. Highly recommend this beautiful stay!!

Guest User: The owner was very friendly, accommodating and responsive to all the queries. We had a very pleasant stay for two nights. The hotel room was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. The owner picked us up at the entrance, transferred our luggages to the hotel and also helped sending them to the hong chun bus station on our last day of leaving. The bed was comfortable and we had decent sleeps during the stay. It is also a plus point where the location is right next to 月沼. Will definitely choose to stay here again !

Respect local customs ❻ Leave no trace. Take your trash with you and protect this oil-painting-like ancient village You must visit Huangling in autumn at least once🍂 Watch the rooftops covered in harvest, and in this cliffside ancient village, embrace a whole gentle autumn.
Compared to Hongcun and Xidi, I prefer this deeper, hidden Huizhou Bagua Village
When traveling to Huizhou, most people's first reaction is to rush to Hongcun and Xidi! They're famous, have plenty of guides, and are packed with tourists. The commercial vibe is quite strong, which takes away from the original tranquility of an ancient village. But on this trip to Southern Anhui, I was completely won over by Chengkan Bagua Village! A thousand-year-old village hidden deep in the mountains, it's low-key and healing—a true Huizhou hidden gem that retains its authentic, lived-in charm🌿 They say, "Visit Chengkan, and you'll have no obstacles in life." This ancient Bagua village, with its auspicious meaning, is truly worth exploring at a leisurely pace! 🌟Four must-visit spots 1. Yongxing Lake I was stunned by Yongxing Lake the moment I entered the village—it's definitely the most beautiful spot in the village! The clear, tranquil water reflects the scattered white walls, black tiles, distant mountains, and ancient bridges. 无语念念The Mukeng Bamboo Sea
If you're driving, definitely enter from the South Gate, not the West Gate! The West Gate is too difficult to navigate! The scenery from the South Gate is beautiful enough! The bamboo forest at the West Gate is more breathtaking because it's located on a mountain. It's extremely pet-friendly; my dog had a blast seeing the bamboo forest!
昭仔多吃菜Yujianxiuli Water Town
The value for money is absolutely amazing!! It rained during the Dragon Boat Festival, and Xiuli was the only place in Huizhou that kept up with the fish lantern displays – the variety was incredible!! I had so much fun! I wrote a thousand-word post on Xiaohongshu to rave about it. Although I was initially a little unhappy that Xiuli wasn't included in the annual pass, the ten yuan was totally worth it. You absolutely must come to Xiuli to see the fish lanterns, fireworks, and iron flower displays!

Qiyun Mountain has quite a few scenic spots and photo opportunities. Although there's a cable car, there are also quite a few stairs going up and down. Fortunately, the smaller attractions are all close together, so you won't be climbing endlessly. You can rest whenever you want, and it's not too tiring.

Tachuan truly lives up to its reputation as a representative of autumn scenery in southern Anhui. It's not far from Hongcun, just a 10-minute electric scooter ride away, making it very convenient. The white-walled, black-tiled Hui-style houses are scattered among the mountains, surrounded by terraced fields. As autumn arrives, the leaves gradually change color, a tapestry of red, yellow, and green, resembling an oil painting. Strolling along the mountain trails, the scenery changes with every step, making for stunning photos. Compared to Hongcun, Tachuan is much quieter and less noisy. It's recommended to visit on a sunny afternoon for the soft light and atmosphere. This trip allows you to experience the authentic charm of a traditional mountain village.

Xidi has more official residences, while Nanping has more private residences. You can feel the tranquility and peace; many residents still live there. The small Western-style houses are quite different in style. The items in the Cheng Family Ancestral Hall were donated by people, one chair at a time. Shensi Hall is the best-preserved two-courtyard house I've seen recently.

During my trip to Anhui, I visited Hongcun, a major tourist destination in Huangshan City. Moon Pond is one of Hongcun's most iconic attractions, also known as "Ox Stomach" because its shape resembles an ox's stomach, echoing the village's overall "ox-shaped village" feng shui layout. Built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, Moon Pond is crescent-shaped, surrounded by antique Hui-style residences. Its mirror-like surface reflects the white-walled, black-tiled buildings and green mountains, creating a beautiful scene. Moon Pond is Hongcun's most representative photography spot, hailed as "a village in a Chinese painting."
陌染MMPingshan Village
This seemed to be the only ancient town we visited that didn't charge us, but after seeing two grand mansions where the descendants of the old houses still lived and explained the wood carvings to us—all of them were over 70 years old—we still ended up paying 10 yuan per person.
