Haizishan Nature Reserve is located in the northern plateau area of Daocheng County (located in Litang and Daocheng counties in Ganzi Prefecture), and is the largest ancient ice relics on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the "Daocheng Ancient Ice Cap". The total area is 3,723 square kilometers, of which Litang County accounts for about 2/3 and Daocheng County accounts for about 1/3. The lowest altitude of the protected area is about 3,400 meters, the highest altitude is 50,50 meters, and the average altitude is 4,000 meters. The protected area is a plateau hilly area raised by the ancient Mediterranean with the Himalayas Mountains. It is part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The protected area is the original ancient Mediterranean seabed gravel accumulation. 1/4 is a virgin forest composed of main tree species such as Sichuan-Chongqing alpine Tree - Yangshu, cold spruce and other major tree species. 2/4 is a high-cold wetland - meadow - shrub. There are 1,145 lakes in the area, and their scale density is unique in China. Because the Tibetans of alpine lakes are also called Haizi, they are named Haizishan.
