Han Yu, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, passed through Zhangzhou eight times and left the famous poem "Forkfish Recruitment Zhang Gongcao" here. In order to commemorate Han Yu, the posterity built an island in the center of the lake and built a pavilion, named "forkfish pavilion", cast Han Yu's bronze statue in front of the pavilion, and carved the poem on the stone tablet.
