The Tong'an Confucius Temple was built in 933 AD, and the existing building was rebuilt in the 32nd year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1768). The overall structure is basically the same as the Confucius Temples throughout the country, covering an area of more than 4,000 square meters and a construction area of more than 1,400 square meters. Its main building is Dacheng Palace, the roof is a beam-style structure heavy-set mountain-style building, roof cover tube tile, the granite rock column in the hall is very tall, beam frame, bucket arch and other finely carved and painted decoration, the roof frame is like a bucket arch staggered, the appearance is simple, reflecting the stability of Confucianism, Simple style. The hall is the largest single building in Xiamen's existing ancient buildings and the tallest in style.
