Xianmi National Forest Park is the largest forest area in Qinghai Province. The park is located 30 kilometers east of Menyuan County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It covers three towns of Dongchuan, Xianmi and Zhugu, Menyuan County, 55 kilometers north-south wide, 95 kilometers east-west long, and the total land area is 14.8 10,000 hectares. In 1996, the park was approved as a provincial forest park and in 2003 it was upgraded to a national forest park. Due to the influence of Qilian Mountains, Xianmi Forest Park has abundant surface water and groundwater resources, and is the birthplace of many Yellow River water systems in the south and many inland water systems in the north. Xianmi Forest Park is located at the confluence of the two mountain systems of Lenglongling and Dalu Mountain in Qilian, consisting of mountains, canyons, strange peaks, cliffs and caves. Affected by the two major mountain systems of Lenglongling and Dachangshan and Datong River, the natural geographical conditions are unique, the ecosystem is diverse, and the landscape resources such as biology, geology, hydrology, sky and humanities are rich and beautiful. The ancient and strong virgin forest, the vast plateau meadows, the scenery of the mountains and lakes, the deep and dangerous ditches, the mighty streams and rivers, the long-standing Tibetan Buddhism, the vast and profound Huahe culture, the simple and strange folk customs, the intoxicating, and lingering.
