The Sackler Art Museum and the Freer Art Museum are two museums equally famous for their oriental art treasures, and the underground exhibition halls of each other are also connected. The Sackler Museum of Art is a privately donated exhibition hall by medical scientist Arthur M. Sackler, which displays more than 1,000 pieces of East Asian art treasures from his collection. The regular exhibits here include bronze statues of the Han Dynasty, Buddha statues, stone carvings of the Tang Dynasty, jade, porcelain and some literati painting and calligraphy. The art museum will also hold some special exhibitions from time to time. It once held the original photo exhibition of the Empress Dowager Cixi and the exhibition of Buddhist grottoes in Xiangtangshan in the Northern Qi Dynasty. When we visit here, it seems that we have traveled to the distant ancient times. The Chinese culture that runs through 5,000 years of ancient and modern times is vividly presented in front of us in Washington, and we may have some feelings and helplessness.
