Jiangyan Times の School Trail です
Original Text
There was a monument in the Nippon Life Building along Midosuji in Chuo-ku, Osaka. From the mid-Edo period to the 2nd year of the Meiji era, there was a school in this place and it was the center of education in Osaka. It was now an office district, and only the monument remained.
Immediately after exiting the 8 exit of Yodoyabashi Station, a stone monument and relief are installed on the wall of the Nippon Life Building on the left hand side. I used to come and go without worrying about it. Kaitokudo is a private school that was funded by five townspeople and was founded for townspeople. In the immediate vicinity is the private school "Suitable School" of Dutch studies opened by Koan Ogata, but the building is preserved and you can visit it.
There was a magnificent monument on the wall on the south side of the Nippon Life Building, just after going up the exit of Yodoyabashi Station 8. I couldn't understand what it was written on the stone monument at all, but there was an explanation on the plate next to it, so I found out that it was "Kaitokudo Ruins".
A pedestal is provided on the sidewalk in front of the Nippon Life Building on Koraibashi Bridge, and four aluminum statues are placed. The suitable school, which Koan Ogata, known as a Dutch scholar and doctor from the end of the Edo period to the early Meiji period, used as a home and a Dutch school, is also located near Kitahama on the road where this statue is placed. These statues are relatively new and are not worth going to see this much, but there are many old buildings from the Edo, Meiji, and Showa eras in this area, and you can explore them with them. Fun ...
After strolling around "Nakanoshima", go to the famous Kitahama retro buildings. This monument was found by chance on the way. It was built in a place like a dedicated frame on the walls of the Nippon Life Building, and it was a magnificent monument with a history. It seems that there was a school in the Edo period. It's not a monument to go to see, but if you go nearby, please take a look.
