Shanghai is home to a spectacular temple that holds three Guinness World Records
🧚♀️There is a temple in Shanghai that holds three Guinness World Records for the tallest cloisonné statue, the tallest Guanyin statue, and the tallest bronze door! If words were to describe it, it would be grand, unique, intricate, and awe-inspiring! It's definitely worth a visit!
.
🏠This is Donglin Temple, founded by the monk Miaoyin in the first year of the Yuan Dynasty (1308), with a history of nearly 700 years. It has seven floors and looks as if it was built against the mountain. The architecture is unique, luxurious, and magnificent.
.
‼️Key points:
🧡Mountain gate:
✔️Built with over 60 tons of precious Shandong Han white jade, 20 meters long and 15 meters high;
✔️There are three bridges in front of the mountain gate, the middle one is the pure copper Golden Wish Bridge, and the two sides are Han white jade and bluestone bridges. From the steps to the bridge piers and railings, each part is covered with traditional Chinese patterns, very classical;
✔️There are 1017 different fonts of the word 'Fu' on the copper bridge steps;
✔️Above stands 48 solemn Han white jade Amitabha Buddha statues, and in the center of the top of the tower are five golden lotus flowers made of brass, absolutely exquisite.
.
💚Golden Lotus Pond:
✔️A wishing pond in the temple, with a copper edge, filled with clear water, and a Shancai boy in the middle. This statue is made of cloisonné, enameled and gold-plated, and can rotate freely.
.
💛Thousand Buddha Gate:
✔️The 20-meter-high Guanyin Pavilion gate is made of ancient raindrop flower copper plate, composed of 999 Guanyin reliefs forming a 'Buddha' character as high as the door, showing its complexity;
✔️On the walls outside the Thousand Buddha Gate, there are densely packed Buddha statues, very spectacular.
.
💙Five Buddha Crown:
✔️There is a huge 22-meter-high Five Buddha Crown on the top of the mountain, a reclining Buddha statue with a crown on its head. Under the sunlight, the Buddha's charm and aura slowly shine.
✔️When viewed up close, you will find 360-degree circular full of various Buddha reliefs, truly a plethora of patterns here, very exquisite.
.
🤎Bell Tower and Drum Tower:
✔️The main temple-style buildings in the temple are square double-eave buildings, all with gilded copper roofs, flying eaves and corners, elegant and imposing. Under the sunlight, the entire temple body is golden and dazzling.
.
💜Lingyu Guanyin:
✔️In the Yuantong Treasure Hall, there is a 'Lingyu Guanyin' holy statue carved from more than a ton of Xinjiang Hetian jade from the Yuan Dynasty, a rare treasure.
.
💯The entire temple can be described as the most magnificent temple in Shanghai. When you step into it, you will be instantly attracted by its momentum. It is the largest single building area in the Pudong area with Yuan, Ming, and Qing architectural groups, with high cultural value. Highly recommended to visit!

👉Travel suggestions:
✔️Located in Jinshan District, a bit far from downtown Shanghai, you can visit Donglin Temple and then go to nearby Huakai Haishang Ecological Park, Fengjing Ancient Town, etc.!
Take your parents to see. It's still quite far from the city. The scale of the temple is quite large. The elderly are free. Take your parents to see. It's still quite far from the city. The scale of the temple is quite large. Adults need tickets.
I didn't expect that there are such temples in Shanghai. It is really a film. I have obtained three Guinness records. It is very powerful! It’s a bit far away, in Zhujing Town in Jinshan, but parking at the door is still very convenient.
The flowers bloom on the sea to enjoy the spring plum blossoms. I came to the nearby Donglin Temple. The first time I came was very shocking. It was as spectacular as Hangzhou Lingyin Temple. I never knew that Shanghai had such a large Buddhist holy place.
Shanghai Donglin Temple has three Guinness records, and it is the first 4A-level Buddhist scenic spot in Shanghai to be successfully created. The scenic spot is distinctive, clean and tidy and good service. Our group of elderly people with inconvenient legs and feet asked the staff of Guanyin Pavilion for the elevator location, and then took us to the elevator entrance. The ticket for Trip.com's second kill is 24 yuan, and the ticket office at the door informs that there is no need to change tickets, and scan the code directly. There are three places that need to scan the code to check the ticket: the gate, Guanyin Pavilion, and the five Buddha crowns.
There are elevator monasteries, temples that can be photographed, and temples with restaurants. This is a very user-friendly monasteries. The elevator goes to the 7th floor, then climbs up the first floor, to the terrace, and you can see the big Buddha head.
I have been hearing how Donglin Temple has a Guinness record, until I walked closer, when I saw the temple door, I felt really shocked, and I suddenly felt a sense of "avoiding the world and the mountains are shallow". Entering the door is the bronze statue of the Guinness record of Jingtai Lanshan Cai Child. There are already many people asking for incense to pray for blessings. The lotus pond koi swims below. The hall chanting is endless. The incense is lingering and people are calmed down. The thousand Buddha gate on the left, the highest viewing and audio-visual image in the room, the brass "mid-midge" of the Yuantong Temple on the right, the whole jade bodhisattva statue...Whether it is a visit as an artwork or a religious worship, Donglin Temple is worth a walk in person anyway. The parking lot in front of the temple is not big. If you come late, you can park in the Wufu parking lot next to it. It is not a few steps away from the temple, and there are enough parking spaces. Finally, it stopped for almost 2h and only charged 5 parking fees.
There is basically no monk's temple, and you can go directly in by scanning the code at the door without changing tickets. Take the elevator to the 7th floor and then take the stairs to the five Buddha crowns on the eighth floor. The good fortune boy at the gate, the thousand Buddha gate of the temple and the highest indoor Guanyin are all Guinness World Records. But generally forget the old temple of Donglin Temple on the right side of the door, this Yuantong Temple is the only cultural relics here, and the Hotan Yuguan audio-visual image inside is the treasure of the town hall.
Although there are Donglin Temples that have been there for a long time, they are all newly built now. It's not to see the monuments. It's okay to turn around inside. You can climb the five Buddha crowns or enter the Guanyin Pavilion. It really cost a lot when it was built.
