Shanghai Former Provisional Government Site of the Republic of Korea

The former site of the Daehan Provisional Government It is a Shikumen house on Madang Road, built in 1925. After the "March 1 Movement" in South Korea, the Korean Provisional Government moved here several times in 1926, when Kim Jiu was the consul of state. In 1932, because members of the Korean Provisional Government were arrested by the Japanese military police, they were forced to evacuate from Shanghai. However, it is the "old site" of the South Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai that has been working for a long time and is well preserved. The former site of the Korean Provisional Government was officially opened to the public in 1993. The Provisional Government of Korea is called "the temple of the Korean nation". The Korean Provisional Government is now located at No. 4, Lane 306, Madang Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai. It was officially opened to the public after the restoration project in 1993. For more than 10 years, the "Old Site" has received more than one million Korean visitors. In 2001, the "Old Site" Management Office and the Korea Memorial Hall completely renovated the building.
