Like celestial burials and water burials, hanging coffins are an ancient form of funeral. The burial sites are usually chosen on the cliffs of the water on the riverside. The coffins are placed in natural or artificial caves tens to hundreds of meters from the water, and some are placed directly on suspended wooden stakes. On the cliffs on both sides of Jiuqu Creek, Wuyi Mountain, there are still more than ten hanging coffins.

Although there are many places to hang coffins across the country, it seems that there are here in the southeast coastal provinces.
