Yamako City is one of Japan's 100 famous cities, but in reality there is not much left. At present, the site is being excavated and is not being rebuilt, so there is basically nothing to see. Fortunately, the park where Yamagata City is located is not far from the JR station, and it is not troublesome to walk over and shake.
You can enjoy it even more if you visit when the cherry blossoms bloom. The cherry blossoms reflected in the moat are also beautiful.
