The hotel is situated on the main road near the village centre, which can be reached via a bridge over the river. The room is decent, spacious, with air conditioning and a fan. The bed is big and comfortable, with nice linen. There is an ironing board with an iron, a microwave and - what is important in this heat - a fridge. The bathroom is ok and the shower has warm water. Mike who manages the hotel is very very helpful, kind and caring, he is really great!

Don’t forget to look up when you are here and walking the grounds: it is jungle and tall towering and verdant plants trees and plants all over and around you. It is a beautiful and peaceful place filled with insect noises and bird sounds all day and into the night. Considering that this is just over the hill from San Ignacio town, this place still feels hidden away in the mountains. It is also well-located on the main road leading to the town itself. We were in the 3bedroom Hummingbird Cottage which had its own little yard with a hangout area. The place, while a little dated on the inside and thin bed mattresses, was very spacious and cozy. Just note that the Hummingbird cottage does face the main road, so you will get some traffic noise. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Laundry can be done for a small fee and your clothes are returned to you, nearly washed and folded by the early evening! Also, some of the best area restaurants deliver food here directly! And don’t forget to have dinner at the onsite Tio’s Maya kitchen and cap off with an outdoor bonfire at night in the jungle
