Welcome to the William B. Waters House, a 1911 gem just across the Fremont Bridge from downtown, combining new renovation and modern amenities with the charm and character of vintage Portland. The home is in the cultural center of the city, 5 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes to the hot Alberta Arts District, and 5 minutes to the equally trendy Mississippi street restaurants, cafes and bars. The impeccably appointed William Waters House resides in the upscale Irvington neighborhood, a national historic district noted for remarkable architecture, and just one block from one of Portland's loveliest parks, the 16 acre Irving Park, into which our street dead-ends. Irving Park features tennis and basketball courts, children’s playground, open fields and wooded, rolling hills. You'll enjoy a very spacious, renovated, 1st floor apartment, with living room, dining room, kitchen, one bathroom and two bedrooms with king beds, plus a bonus side room with daybed. Please note, that while this is a generously sized apartment on the 1st level of a historic home, there is a strict 5 guest maximum, and parties are strictly prohibited. An extra guest fee of $20 per night is added for each guest beyond the first two. The price is automatically added when you indicate the number of travelers in the search.Features include:10 feet high ceilingsLarge original windows throughoutSlate entry and new oak floors throughoutOriginal vintage fixturesRough hewn stone fireplaceQuartz countertops.Well equipped kitchen with pots, pans, serving dishes, silverware and dishes for 8 people, French press, various kitchen utensils and tools. There is a 2-car limit for guests staying the night. Respect for Neighbors:The William Waters House is on a quiet residential street and we have amazing neighbors on all sides. We strive to maintain positive relations with them, so for this reason we ask that you respect house rules around the 9-person maximum, noise level and parking.Interaction with Guests:We enjoy meeting guests upon your request but also understand and respect your privacy. We are usually nearby, and always available by text or phone to address any needs you have.Other things to note:The apartment is the entire first level of a 3-story historic home and the upper levels of the home are separate living quarters that we live in. While generally very quiet, there is some minimal sound transference. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am. Again, parties are strictly prohibited. Security Camera: There is a motion-activated security camera on the front porch directed toward the sidewalk which can record audio/visual. Breakfast is the least variety I have ever experienced, only square bags, breakfast cereals, milk, yogurt, coffee, tea, no more! As soon as I stepped into the hotel room, the dirty smell of a carpet came out, and the old-fashioned air conditioner was noisy. The floor under the carpet of the room is really too old, and it creaks on the floor and is not flat. Only free parking is more convenient. I don't want to come anymore.

The perfect house for family or friends, centrally located in the perfect Portland neighborhood. Diverse, rich in culture, excellent food and drink, on transit lines and totally walkable, you won't even need a car if you don't want to have one.We are a legally permitted 4 bedroom short term rental house! Permit #LU 15-267213 CU. We are a registered business with, and pay lodging and business tax to, the City of Portland (TaySoif LLC). Please note there is a small extra charge for more than 6 people. Eight guests is our limit. The four bedroom two bath main house is for guests; we have a tenant in an apartment upstairs which has its own entry and deck. Guests also get the driveway (where you can park up to 3 cars single file), the front porch, and the back yard. Neighborhood quiet hours are 10PM to 8AM. No events can be hosted here.Awesome clean beds and pillows, and a clean, comfortable, well appointed, great-smelling house in a vibrant neighborhood. Central air! We LOVE to make our guests have the vacation or short term stay they want. This is one of Portland's best "pocket" neighborhoods. It's diverse and unique; full of walkable fun. There are so many restaurants and bars within blocks of the house. There are shops, art galleries, the well-stocked Alberta Co-op grocery, and a Zoom care all within steps of the house. Our neighborhood: creative and cool, friendly, fabulous food, flat, walkable, and bikeable. We have Alberta's 'Last Thursday': the divine arts fair on the last Thursday of every warm month, when they close the whole street and the artsy spirit of PDX is in full bloom... Fall in love with Portland here.We restored this 1970's ranch in 2013 (and again in 2016 when we built the apartment upstairs) to give it a geometric, clean, inviting style. Quiet, solid bamboo floors run throughout the house, every appliance is Energy Star, all the bulbs are LED. It's super private, and the living/outdoor spaces do not intersect with the upstairs tenant's area at all. The front porch is a great place to watch the neighborhood walk by, and the big back yard has a beautiful gazebo with two couches and dining table with umbrella and a dining table with six chairs and a huge umbrella. All for you.Free fast wifi.Comcast cable, Netflix. Fully equipped kitchen with such staples as sugar, spices, and oil, cleaning supplies, paper towels, napkins. A private code for each party in the internet-controlled locks. Two bikes with helmets and locks. A charcoal barbecue grill. It's SUPER important that you realize how much we value the quiet and peace of our neighbors, did I mention that? We understand that you may be on vacation, but they are not. You are their guests in their neighborhood, too.Public transit is just half a block away!We may negotiate rates if certain dates are not booked, or for a smaller party (1 or 2 people)About pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats less than 50 lbs per pet (limit 2 pets total).About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Please don't arrive early or leave late. The place was great but when I got there, the guy working started saying stuff like “ it’s quiet around here”, “Your not trying to party are you?” Then starts saying people have been coming there lately trying to do so, I assumed he stayed these things because I am A AA woman. I reminded him of my age (while he’s holding my I.D btw) he then goes to tell me I have to pay a $200 deposit. Which I was told before booking the room was $50. So this brings me back to my race, this is being told to me AFTER i just spent nearly $200 just to get the room. So I am behind upset.

Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel

Portland

I really feel that this hotel is not worthy of the ”Sheraton” brand! Let’s talk about it. I went to the airport and waited for the free shutter of his home for a full half hour. I didn’t expect Portland to be so cold at night, the clothes were worn less, and the dog was frozen! Then the car came, the driver did not get off the luggage, the whole master, so I also decisively did not tip! When I arrived at the front desk of the hotel, I checked in and unfortunately met a girl suspected of racism. When I saw that we were Chinese, I immediately stretched my face a lot and went to the room in a bad mood. I gave the most remote room on the first floor. I walked far away and said that I opened the curtains and saw only one wall! Oh, really depressed! I think about ten o'clock in the evening, I am too lazy to change the room again, ready to wash and sleep, and found that the sewer is not working! It’s really a slap in the face, and I’m going to call the front desk for repairs. Fortunately, this time the repairman came faster, and finally took a shower before 11:00! Is this like the Sheraton Hotel? I really doubt that I lived in the fake Sheraton! Also, another disadvantage of living on the first floor is that the restaurant fume on the first floor of the hotel is filled directly into the room, but there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom! So accompanied by the smell of soot, we spent a night unhappy! I really don't recommend this hotel!

I didn’t feel this hotel was worth the price tag. It was clean, nicely designed, and located downtown but they charge an extra $50 each night for services, don’t provide free Wi-Fi (unless you sign up for some kind of Hilton membership), and do not include parking. Also, that area is a business district. The East side of Portland is a more fun area to be based. The gym and pool were alright. Well-equipped but rather small. I’d recommend shopping around better deals on the east side of the river.

Service was solid, the receptionists were nice/friendly. I got a tiny tiny cut from the sink’s pull knob(?) by pulling it too hard/carelessly, so just be careful/slow when using it, the sides are kinda sharp. We got there super late coming in from delayed flight from JFK one night! We’d been cruising Mediterranean for 15 days and had already flown for 17 hours. I had a late check-in Standard room booked for my Sister and I who badly overpacked and had 5 heavy suitcases of various sizes. I chose Holiday Inn @ PDX as it was close by the Airport AND offered shuttle service! With the help of the Shuttle driver we managed to load everything but our carry-on luggage on the cart. Checked in and were given the key to our room on the 2nd Floor. Laboriously we made our way up to 2, managed to get our suitcases outta the elevator with the fast closing door and made it to our assigned room only to discover that the “key” didn’t work—no amount of re-insertion would convince it to, either; so my Sis went back down to the check-in desk and was given a key to a Suite on the 3rd Floor! We made our way up to that suite of rooms and were greeted with an exquisitely dark & dreary mostly dark brown but well appointed two room Suite. The rooms were clean, but the Holiday Inn in th location if VERY OLD, and they’ve done y their best to offer amenities to accommodate and make up for the aged old place. The Coffee Maker didn’t work, but everything else seemed to. The King Bed was super comfortable but the carpeting is old and unraveling and the living-room wall heater burned its way through a travel bag that help my brand new never worn Natica Puffy Jacket and the carrying bag! Didn’t know it was even on. Good place to crash for a night or two, but no longer. Bed was super!!

The location of the hotel is superb, just next to the MAX light rail station. After the airport is out, you can take the MAX directly (but please note that the Convention Center station is closed at the end of May, 2019.2.20, and you may have to get off at the previous stop). It is also very convenient to the city. The stadium of the NBA game is nearby (the distance of one stop). If you want to eat, you can choose from the distance you can walk. If you want to shop nearby, you can visit the Lloyd Center Mall (about ten minutes walk). The room allocated was quite large. There was a coffee machine, a microwave oven, and a small bar in the room. The only thing was a bit noisy for the light rail station, but it didn't affect me without sleep disorders.

Lobby and room look amazing. Elevators fast and don’t have to wait too long. The staff are friendly but we asked for laundry bags but waited for so long at least 40 minutes. Breakfast area is good and food was ok. But not that many options to eat. Location is great! So close to downtown. Parking fee I think is 39-40? It was ok but still don’t get it why we need to pay for parking fee when you stay in the hotel( but I guess most of hotels are like that) I wish they had paper slippers in the room.
