|0.8km from city centerI was in Panama City, Panama for Memorial Day Weekend 2023. For breakfast I dined at the La Brasserie restaurant every morning. My waitress, Oreida Roman, made me feel welcome every time. She was always friendly, smiled beautifully, and made sure that the restaurant met my expectations. If I come back to Panama in the near future I will be staying at the Marriott Sortis Hotel and will be dining at La Brasserie. Thank you Oreida and keep being the outstanding waitress that you are.

|2.31km from city centerMy friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in December and we booked our rooms using booking.com. As a travel agent I know that direct bookings are always better but the rate found on booking.com was much better. When we got there, the reception staff (Clarence I believe his name was) did not want to honor our room, stating that even though there was no way our room description said ”bay view” because those rooms arent offered on booking. com so I pulled up my reservation and showed him exactly what the description of the room we paid for was, a Sea view. He was very argumentative and his lack of professionalism was even noticeable on the way he dressed. I really didnt even think he was the receptionist, I though he was maybe doing some repair or something behind the desk. After a few minutes back and forth, we finally got our sea view room which to my surprise it was very clean and spacious. The decor was nice and modern, it looks like they invested money on updating the rooms and hallways but the hotel itself needs a lot of work. This hotel was built in the 60s and it shows! the a/c units look rusty and moldy on the outside, the restaurant decor looks so old and the pool deck, although nice, it could use a little TLC. Overall it was an ok stay, I wouldnt stay there again despite its good location.

|2.16km from city centerDecent hotel but definitely could use a little improvement. The hotel is clean and comfortable, although a little dated in places and banged up (our room's window had a giant crack in it, which had me wondering how safe that would be in a storm!). The view was lovely and the location is good. Breakfast was fine, nothing to write home about. The happy hour drinks and snacks were fair, and the food was ... not good. Definitely don't eat at the restaurant for anything other than breakfast. Also, the hotel is centrally located, which is good, but overlooks a giant parking lot that turns into party bus central on weekends (no joke). It is LOUD. The other nights were quiet, but this is definitely a negative on the hotel's location. Also, it helps to come with a working knowledge of Spanish if possible. At the front desk the staff's English is good, but at the restaurant and spa it's extremely limited. It was difficult to communicate with the massage therapist, who then also told me I was only allowed to pay in cash (which I didn't think was true but had no time to verify). We didn't use the pool because we were busy doing other things, but it appeared to be in need of a little attention. Also, housekeeping was spotty. Some days they didn't come, and when they did, they often didn't replace the towels (although they took the used ones away). Three times I had to call down to request towels, which was a little strange. Overall this is a very serviceable hotel that's located in a central area that makes it easy enough to get to most attractions by foot, cab, or Uber. Do not expect luxury and you won't be disappointed.

|1.95km from city centerWe reserved here for ease of pickup for our main event. This trip was planned around a full transit of the canal, which is only offered one Saturday a month with only certain hotels being pick up sites. We got 2 nights in an upgraded room for 18,000 points. We must have had a free night thrown in. We easily walked to El Trapiche and had an interesting Panamanian Feast and drinks. We were there the 18th and left the 20th. We had drinks and food at the hotel. And service was always good, no matter how busy they were. Food and drinks were good. (Cubano at the Cafe was awesome!) Check in was smooth and room was ready early. Everyone we dealt with was professional and friendly and helpful. Check out was a little slow, but you're not in America, so it was fine. You can't handle everything on line. Our pre-arranged transfer was right on time. The room was clean and well equipped. There was a beer (wine and limited liquor) accross the street, as well as a general market for drugstore items and a diner. We didn't go to the diner. There was also a little bar/restaurant right behind the hotel we didn't get to, but wanted to. We went to a couple of bars and the Cafe in the hotel. All were good. We spent all of Saturday on the canal. Such an interesting, historical adventure!

|1.72km from city centerThe W Panama was an unforgettable experience. It’s one of the best Marriott Hotels in Panama. The service at the W was the best I’ve experienced in Panama. They went above and beyond for Wifey’s birthday, I was impressed with the level of service received. They were quick to respond to my needs via the BonVoy app. and were exceptional throughout my stay. I loved how well they acknowledged my Elite status with Marriott. They even left a nice small cake in our upgraded suite. Cant say enough about the service, it was superb. The Wow suite has the name to match. It was one of the coolest rooms I’ve stayed in. Love that they offer so many room options, they are sure to meet just about any occasion.

|2.89km from city centerWe booked this hotel as it is one of the hotels for free pick up and drop off on the Coast to Coast boat trip through the Panama Canal. We stayed 6 nights before joining a group tour of Central America. We found the easiest way to get around was by Uber - then no scams with taxi fares. The area around the hotel is a little seedy, with ladies of the night on street corners! However, there aren't any great places to go eat nearby with the exception of the little restaurant on the corner to the left as you come out of the hotel. It has a live band at the weekends, they speak no English but we had a great couple of nights there. We had a good breakfast at the hotel most mornings and once used the restaurant for an evening bite. Service a little slow, but otherwise good. Many Panamanians use this hotel as a base for local hospitals - there are several not far away. the only real disappointment was the pool. There were many broken tiles all around the edge, broken polystyrene in the water, and little, if any filtration. The water was a little cloudy and the tiles above the waterline covered in scum. (Sunscreen). There were a few sunbeds and a table and chairs for the shade. the NO alcohol notice was clearly ignored and many guest took their own drink up there and couldn't be bothered to clear away the mess. For us, the bed was a standard double and comfy, the room was a bit dingy but clean and the shower room was in need of an overhaul, but it all worked well. Wifi was good and so all in all, it served its purpose well. We were only sleeping there after all!

|1.68km from city centerThis is a nice, modern hotel and everything looks nice, well kept, and very clean. Check in was quick and easy. Simple, comfortable room was perfect for me, maybe just a bit cozy for a couple. The room was very pleasant and had the right accessories - especially the desk area. Lighting was rather poor. The shower is attractive but very poorly designed. I don't care for the combination of rainfall shower head and handheld shower. Unless one is very careful with the handheld shower, water hits the door area and leaks out to make a puddle on the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Hot water always available - though it might have been just a bit hotter. In searching numerous hotels, it seemed difficult to find a room with a small fridge in it - this one has it. If only they also had a microwave! WiFi was very good at all times. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable selection, but quite unorganized. It seems that anything with meat is way overcooked both at breakfast and in the restaurant at other times. Smokers are made to feel very unwelcome! There is a large open air area off the lobby where smokers could relax without troubling other guests - but not allowed. The only place smoking is allowed is in the driveway or outdoor parking area on the side of the hotel. Some reasonable accommodation could easily be made. The location is good. If you want American fast food or to take the Metro (subway) a leisurely 10 minute walk gets you there. McDonalds, Wendys, Subway, Dominos, and a couple of other restaurants and a bakery in a single strip next to one another. STRANGE STORY about booking a room... I booked for 6 nights and while I was there wanted to extend my stay another day. It couldn't be done either at the desk or through booking website - nothing available. HOWEVER, I was able to book a NEW reservation online for a room - ended up, of course, with the same room for an extra night.

|1.88km from city centerEnjoyed our stay at the Aloft Panama! The hotel offers a great value for the price. The hotel is clean and the beds and rooms are comfortable. The location was great as well. The Multiplaza Mall is within walking distance “less than a mile away”. An Uber to Casco Viejo was less than $5. You also have direct indoor access to the Sheraton Grand next door, which has a 24 hour Pasteleria. Would definitely stay again.

|2.49km from city centerWe really enjoyed our time at this location during our recent family trip to Panama City, Panama. The only ding I had was that the room could have use a more thorough cleaning, as we noticed some mold in our room, but I guess its difficult in such a humid climate. The breakfast offered was delicious and the attendants were super involved and attentive. We were met with plenty of helpful hands while traveling with our little ones. We also loved our room and the view from our room during our stay at this hotel. Our refrigerator was stacked with plenty of refreshment if we required anything at a moments notice, but we decided not to purchase anything from the refrigerator while there - so no idea if the cost was reasonable. The pool area was enjoyed by the kids and we also enjoyed the poolside service we were offered while enjoying the pool. We really liked most of the amenities during our time we spent at the JW Marriot and would be happy to stay at this hotel again in the future.

|0.98km from city centerThe Room - The queen-sized bed was luxurious, the pillows were comfortable, the rain shower in the bathroom was refreshing, the air conditioning was cold. The room also had a large closet with drawers, a TV with remote, a desk and two chairs, and the room was VERY clean. The WIFI was free, strong and very useful to me! They also have an in-room safe for your valuables, a pool and their own parking garage but I did not use them. The Metro Stop at Via Argentina is close by. I had a beautiful view of the city from my 5th floor window where I could enjoy the rain storms and the city lights at night. The Staff and Surroundings - I felt VERY safe! The staff answered questions, ordered taxis for me (until my Uber App started working) and was welcoming and accommodating. Cesar Ramirez especially (I believe he is the front desk manager) spoke English and was so very helpful to me!! EXCELLENT STAFF - EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! They also spent time with a taxi driver helping him to understand that I wanted him to take me one place, wait for me to finish, then take me to my final destination--the trip was a success! The mini market next door is super convenient (with American items and pricing). The Tsugoi Restaurant next door was a treat for me. Sushi and Yakisoba! YUM!! If you want all the amenities of a 5-star resort, you might not find them in the room: an alarm clock (you have one on your cell phone), complimentary shampoo and conditioner (just buy or bring your own), a coffee maker (I think the mini market next door has some--it's Panama, go on a coffee adventure and try some of the best coffee in the world)

|4.91km from city centerSelina/Casco Viejo is a hostel, geared to the young. I am far outside their target demographics. It is loud at night, loud enough to have them provide ear plugs BUT it is a great place to stay. Casco Antiguo is a beautiful part of Panama City and the restored restaurants and shops gives the traveler a truly enjoyable experience. Away from Casco, you will find the true heart of a city, with small shops lining streets and locals hurrying about their daily lives. The hotel offers day tours to many places and the guide that work there are knowledgably of the sites, people and traditions. I slept through the noise on the third floor and brought the unopened ear plugs with me as a souvenir (the party is at the rooftop on the sixth) and for sure I will return.
I am posting the view from the balcony of Panama City. That alone is worth a night stay.

|1.45km from city centerExcellent choice in Panama City, the rooms are perfect, neighbourhood is great with endless number of restaurants. Continental breakfast is amazing.
We stayed here for 10 days, however 1 single issue did confuse & upset us:
Here was the scenario explained to them:
- 10 nights of stay
- guest A&B stayed for the first 6 days.
- guest A alone 7th day
- guest A&C the last 3 nights.
Told them upfront that 1 guest leaves & another will join later. They charged $27.5/day, admin fee to change a guest name!? This was after suggesting that we cancel with Trip.com & rebook again with the correct names. We told them it doesn’t make sense to do that & it was disappointing that they couldn’t offer any solution to a customer who just gave them 10 days of business & being a Riu Class member loyal to this chain.

|1.07km from city centerMyself and partner visited this Hotel a few times when it was The Ola Panama now the Globals Hotel Panama. It seems that the standard has dropped considerably this visit. The food was sadly lacking. The Main Chef did his best but was under great pressure it seemed. He was very very busy with virtually no help. My thoughts were that they were under staffed. The Air conditioning went off every night. I complained on two consecutive nights about it. It was restored quickly but only after being woken up with the heat and hardly able to breath. The WIFI was Nonexistent in Room 404. There also seems to be an issue with Ants in this room. My partner was bitten by what looked like midges every night in the restaurant as there were no insect trap lights or similar. We bought the drinks package which did save us a fortune. The room was clean and respectable and if not for the air conditioning would have been perfect. I really feel disappointed that I have only gave the Hotel 3 stars as I always thought it was a fantastic Hotel and worthy of five stars in the past. Alas if I were asked if I would return to this hotel, I would probably say No. (Sadly). So come on Globals Panama raise your game. Address the restaurant and the food. Sort the WIFI and the air conditioning. Jet2 also need to inspect the Hotels they offer the public as this was our third Jet2 trip this year and all have been labelled as 4 star but were sadly lacking and lucky if they were even at a 3 star Standard.

|4.5km from city centerHotel location is OK, the facilities inside are not new, but there is a fatal flaw, written in the end. There is a square downstairs facing the north. The sound is noisy. The high-rise house facing the east can see the sea view, not too noisy. It is OK. There is a balcony on the top floor and you can see the sea view. The scenery is good. The staff is friendly. The only fatal flaw is that this hotel does not have hot water for bathing. Looking at the comments on Google Maps, it is said that the hot water pipe has been broken for several years.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Although some staff is bilingual, you're in Panama so you should speak Spanish and/or use a translation app. The front desk is staffed 24 hours. The hotel is located in a safe location so I never felt unsafe. However, the 24 hour staffed front desk is great for extra peace of mind. The daily breakfast is filling. There is a full gym with all of the equipment you could need. The rooms are clean and spacious. There is a stove, microwave, oven, and washer/dryer. Everything you could need for an extended stay. |1.6km from city centerWe actually have never stayed at this hotel and never would! We live two blocks away and they play their music so loud in the pool area that it sounds like the DJ is in our living room. And that's on the 26th floor with all the doors and windows shut tight! I think it's very rude and inconsiderate to subject their neighbours to this kind of abuse. I have tried to call them about it but nobody ever answers the phone. Obviously the management doesn't care at all, I can't imagine how loud it must be for their guests!

|2km from city centerIt was a pleasure to stay at this hotel with the warm friendly staff, especially Emma who went above and beyond to help us check in. While some of the staff may speak limited English, they make the extra effort to help communicate and understand your needs. This location was perfect for getting around the city using Uber and the fares were not that expensive (most trips were around USD 2-4). There is a grocery within walking distance, Riba Smith which has a lot of familiar brands and local items as well. The rooms were cleaned every day. The room was equipped with towels, hair dryer, toilet paper, cutlery including pots and bowls, dish washing liquid, a sponge and roll of napkins. We went to the grocery to get some food items and the kitchen was equipped with a microwave, electric stove (no need for matches!) and fridge. While the windows do not open in the room, it is still very comfortable. The washer & dryer are at the end of the hallway and they provide you with a bit of laundry detergent to get you through your first load of laundry. Only liquid detergent can be used in these machines and you will have to use quarters to operate the machine (at the time of our stay it was USD3.50 for washing and USD2.25 for the dryer). The front desk can help you with coins if you need (that’s where we got ours!). We stayed for two weeks. The room was on the 15th floor, it was quiet with a great view of the city. There were no disturbances or loud music, so it was ideal for having quick video conference calls if you have to work during your stay. It was a great stay and we will definitely look forward to staying there again.
