This hotel was very easy to book through Titanium elite services. They made the process very easy and gave us a nice upgrade. They were very helpful with accommodating with the suite that offers a small full kitchen including dishwasher, silverware, microwave, regular size fridge, kitchen sink, coffee maker Lots of living room space and tv in living-room and bedroom. Easy for parking. They have space outside for large F250 trucks since a truck won’t fit in their covered parking.

My wife and I recently spent three nights at the TownPlace Suites hotel in Markham, Ontario. We booked the room with our Bonvoy points, so I can’t comment on price. Markham is a suburb about 15 miles north of Toronto. We picked this location since it was near relatives we were visiting. It’s located on a fairly busy highway with various commercial businesses nearby. There is a Chinese restaurant (QJD Peking Duck), which we did not visit, on the first floor. The thirteen-story building actually holds two Marriott properties: Courtyard by Marriott on floors 2 - 8 and TownPlace on floors 9 - 14. The registration desk serves both hotels. The lobby has several areas for socializing. There also is a Bistro/Bar area. Conference rooms, a business center and a spa are off to the side. A fitness center and indoor pool are on the lower level. Wifi is free. Surprisingly, parking is not. Signs say that it costs $6 Canadian per day to park in the attached multi-level garage, but we apparently were not charged. Check-in was courteous and efficient. You need your keycard to access the elevator. TIP: There is no 13th floor; the elevator buttons go from 12 to 14! We were assigned room 915. TIP: the room was almost across the hall from the ice machine and one wall of the room directly abutted the elevator bank. While the noise was neglible, you might want to keep this in mind if you’re a very light sleeper. The room was clean and decorated in what I would call ikea style. It was like living in a studio apartment. A flat screen TV was on a two-drawer chest/dresser. A wall-mounted desk had overhead shelving, a vertical cupboard, desk chair and rollout table. The kitchen section had a sink, two-burner electric range top, coffee pot, microwave, dishwasher (!) and fairly large refrigerator. There were multiple cabinets and drawers filled with practically every kitchen item you’d need: pots, pans, dishes, flatware, soap, etc. And if they’re still something you might need, chances are you can get it from the front desk. (See pic.) A full-size closet contained an iron/ironing board. No sign of a safe. The sitting area contained a loveseat, ottoman and floor lamp. The king-size bed had five pillows. The bed was a little soft, but comfortable. It was flanked by nightstands and wall-mounted lamps with electric outlets.
The bathroom was average-sized. The vanity had lots of counter space and several drawers. And a hair dryer. The shower was quite large, taking up about a third of the room. There was wall-mounted hand soap and hair/body wash (in the shower) by ALICE & Co+ botanicals. Shower pressure and temperature were fine. TIP: Don’t be alarmed when you flush the toilet - the sound is comparable to that generated by an airplane commode. Breakfast was included with the room and was served on the 14th floor. (Also requiring keycard access.) The offerings consisted of the usual combination of hot & cold items. Overall, we wer

The room is in the Chinese district of Markham, opposite to the movie theater in the shopping mall. The hotel is very new. The room is very large and clean. The decoration is very Marriott, gray color, the bed is large, the bedding is comfortable, the bath water is very large and comfortable, from the front desk to the guest room There is nothing wrong with the service. The standard of a five-star hotel is certainly not comparable to that of a five-star hotel in China. I am very satisfied~ Markham is still a long way from the city. It costs about $40 to take a taxi to the city center or North York. If you come to Toronto for the first time to check in attractions, it is not recommended to live in Markham, Markham is a Chinese district, a paradise for Chinese stomach~

Before going to the hotel, we called to see if we could do an early check-in. They couldn't guarantee but said they would call if the room was available for check in. We killed some time before going to the hotel as they didn't call. We went to the hotel after the check-in time (3pm). The room wasn't ready, even though check in time had passed. They told us it would be ready ”soon” but ultimately it wasn't ready until almost 5pm, two hours late. This type of inconvenience is challenging, particularly when travelling with young kids who just want to get to the room. They told us that staffing was an issue because of a snow storm, which I could see being realistic in the morning, but by afternoon, most roads were clear. The room itself was fine, but realistically it was pretty small to be called a suite. The fridge doesn't even open the whole way before it hits the counter. My other major issue with this hotel was the amount of waste generated. The CEO of Hilton said (2021 Sustainability Report): ”There has never been a more important time to double down on our commitments and raise the bar on our environmental and social goals. In the coming year, as climate science and best practices continue to evolve, we will set more ambitious environmental targets that will help preserve the destinations where we live, work and travel, and pave the way to a net-zero future. ” Hilton has a priority of Preventing Waste and Contributing to a Circular Economy. Hilton's ambitions include a 50% reduction in waste by 2030, but there are some very easy quick wins that could be implemented at this hotel today (breakfast had disposable plates/bowls/cups/cutlery). In my observation, I did not see anyone take their breakfast to go. Simply swapping our their disposables with regular dishes and cutlery would be an easy way to reduce a LOT of waste. Going further, there's no reason that the bedrooms need to continue using the small shampoo/condition etc -- they should be transitioned to the larger, dispensing models.

Due my employment as a First Responder, my multiple travel requirements in numerous hotel accommodations throughout Canada, the USA and Europe, I have never experienced such disgust, prolonged waiting time for merely an extra blanket (waiting over 1.5 hours for blanket to be delivered to my room. On approaching the night manager, mere excuses, limited staffing, yet the manager would prefer to delay this simple request, rathe delegate the errand to another employee, instead of placing the guest as priority and delivering this request himself. All he could do was make excuses. This blanket Mm finally arrived late at night, just as we were going to sleep On our second day, we left the property at around 09: and arrived back to the hotel room at about 10pm. Entering, we noticed our room had not been serviced by housekeeping. I approached another hotel manager shortly after arriving. I was greeted with no apologies but mere persistent excuses that every mishap, was all due to Covid. I was advised and questioned as to whether we booked housekeeping services upon arrival or during booking? Not only are there NO options to so-called reserve housekeeping, but even during our check-in process directly with front desk staff, it was never brought to my attention nor did they stipulate the requirements of having to reserve housekeeping services during our stay!! Nothing was offered, but only apologies received, and only excuses for this occurrence. After explaining to th alleged manager that not only have I stayed in numerous hotels throughout Canada and the USA as an essential service provider, I have never had to request housekeeping services at ANY other hotel, only this pathetically and poorly operated and run property that P the least they could have either placed a notice on their website or at the very least, mentioned it during checking in. A frequent traveller with a brother managing a 5 star hotel in Switzerland, he believed that Covid or no Covid, this establishment allegedly callin themselves a hotel, ivery misleading. All I can say, besides the persistent noise and banging/shouting from neighbouring rooms/guests almade for an extremely terrible experience and weekend stay. Definitely not worth the money or po the substandard hotel in general, especially when other classier and more professional and guest satisfaction and working, with a common goal of primarily guest Menjoyment and satisfaction is of their utmost imp Finally, fortunately we check out tomorrow, and will never seek accommodation ar this Comfort Inn. If we were to Jhh delay our departure from the GTA area, we would mostdefinitely check out tomorrow and seek alternative accommodaion m .’ Mmmm r I would definitely only provide 1 Star ⭐️, if that, and that’s being very generous. Their restaurant for breakfast is way OVERPRICED and definitely not worth the cost, for what you receive!!! I hope future guests take heed and have been warned!! And de! Davi L

Quite location. Front desk was welcoming upon check in. Studio suite very comfortable and clean. Nice lay-out, adequate lighting. No hotel pen and pad, envelopes, or desk stuff like that available in the suites. Not enough bathroom amenities. Towels were plenty. Kitchen needs a few more things, such as a kettle, especially for longer stays. Coffee machine or using the small pot to boil water just isn't the same for making tea and other things. I requested if a kettle was possible to get, they said no, to just boil water in a pot. Most of the front desk staff were very friendly and provided great service. Housekeeping staff provided great service and very friendly. Marriott needs to be more honest with their website list of amenities etc. offered at each hotel, i.e. there is no post/parcel or bottled water, or a few other things listed. When I asked, they would not even provide service for a letter size envelope to be mailed for me. I did offer to pay a service fee as well as postage. They said to go to a post office or drop in mail box, but too far a walk and I had other things pressing to do. They did though when I asked for bottled water one morning as I had run out of my own, say that I could come down to front desk and get some (complimentary). One other morning I did not bother as I was tired and still in pjs, and wanted to remain so for a while longer, but missed my morning coffee. However at other times requests were handled very willingly and promptly with service with a smile. I think it depended on who was involved. In general though, very good service. Breakfast is ok, but could be better. It is a small buffet but several things. Breakfast staff were great and friendly. I find their coffee very bitter. Some mornings scrambled eggs were cooked enough and sometimes quite raw. A breakfast staff member noticed I wasn't impressed and closed the lid and she brought a bowl of properly done scrambled eggs to my table! That was very nice of her. They need to change up and rotate the breakfast option a little more often, because it is a Residence Inn in that a lot of guests are long staying guests. Pool and exercise room available and clean. Being it is a 3-star hotel, I felt a four star rating was deserved. Marriott Bonvoy on the other is very difficult with their rewards program and I am not a fan any more. As already mentioned, their websites for their hotels is also very misleading. Considering all the bother and stress caused by that aspect of things, I will not be using Marriott Hotels anymore despite being an Elite Platinum Member. The hotel though was upping their rates too quickly and too high during my stay there. It is a good value hotel when prices match what they offer. However, whenever overhigh rates start occurring, it is no longer good value for what you receive in return. I can recommend this hotel for stays when rates are reasonable and fair, and for storter stays rather then longer stays (unless they improve a few things)

The hotel is about 40 mins walk from the quaint, historic town of Unionville and about 45 mins drive from Toronto. There is a train that runs direct from Unionville to Toronto. There are a few restaurants in Unionville and Markham, close to the hotel. The lobby area is a great space with wide open bar and restaurant with an impressive ceiling helix-like decoration above them. The gym on the third floor had ellipticals, treadmills, bikes and plenty of free weights and several weight machines. There is a lounge on the fourth floor, sadly the coffee maker was not working on our visit, but thankfully we were offered delicious coffee from the coffee maker in the bar on the ground floor. We moved rooms because our first room looked out across the street to another block of offices and shops, which we did not like. The second room looked out over the parking area but at least there was no construction and the view was open and bright. A big thanks to Ashan (receptionist- I hope I didn't spell your name wrong) for kindly moving us and to the bar staff- Bernice and Watson for being so attentive. Thanks for introducing us to some delicious Canadian wine from Niagara! The rooms were clean but we were surprised to see that the cupboards and shelves were open and did not have doors to them like in most Marriott hotels.

Safe Secure sanitized Pristine Facilities. Very Friendly Front Desk staff...Ivy was as amazing as ever wearing full protective face mask and gloves. So happy pool and fitness center were open. Took a open shared shower each time before swimming. So quickly squeezed bikini dry after shower and put it back on. Pizza Nova Delivery is placed in hallway so no touch service. 305 is a 2 room suite with Whirlpool separate to vanity area. Beautyrest Signature Matress gave the best ride of my life and provided a deep quiet sleep. Will be back late October and Early November for additional electrifying recharging.
