Solo trip to Penida. Didn’t know that this hotel is located far off the harbour and everything but the hotel/villa itself is WONDERFUL. Clean rooms, bathroom. Outside your room you can chill, smoke and witness the sunrise. Great pool overlooking the sea. Staff were great and always there when you need help. The restaurant was undergoing maintenance work but we can have our breakfast either by the pool or in your room. Book this property if you want a EXCELLENT view. Surrounding very peaceful. Nearest eatery is Warung Ogy which serves nice grilled fish. It’s like 5-10mins walk or 3-5mins by bike. No shops nearby. So stock up when you’re in town or saw a minimart.

Everything was fine, the service staff was good in every way, but there is one issue. If you stay at this place, just understand that you can only stay in the hotel and can't go anywhere outside, like for sightseeing or renting a bike. The second thing is when you check out, a tax list will appear with charges for taxi tax, room service tax (even though you already pay a 20% tax when you order food, etc.), but they charge you again. No matter what you take, you'll see taxes everywhere. My bill was 4 million IDR, and you can assume that 1 million IDR was just taxes . Well, overall, the location is great, the hotel is nice and amazing, and the staff is good. I am giving this review about the taxes so that the owner can make some changes and others don't have to face the same issue.

The hotel is excellent, delicious breakfasts, which is rare in Asia. The restaurant at the hotel is the best place to eat on the island. The staff is one solid plus, definitely 5 stars. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pools are clean and always free. You can feel that a lot of work and money was invested. The rooms are all thought out and beautiful, large rooms with a comfortable bed, good shower, etc. But the dampness simply spoiled the whole impression. We checked into a room, we saw mold on the ceiling. The staff responded quickly, offered a more expensive room (a separate villa) and most importantly dry. But in the end we chose the same type of room, we really liked the room, but the dampness was still felt, I don’t know if this is a problem of this island or if the standards were violated during construction, but the impression was spoiled, because the hotel, as far as I understand, is completely new, not even six months old and it was unexpected.

The seaside scenery is beautiful, and the beach is right outside the room. The breakfast is exquisite and delicious, and the location is also good. There are many diving shops nearby, and it is only a ten-minute drive from the pier. The staff is polite and hospitable, and they are always responsive. It is really suitable to lie down for a few days in this hotel and be in a daze. Highly recommended, you must book in advance. There are not many rooms, it seems that there are only more than 10 rooms, less than 14 or 15. I stayed in a suite on the second night. In fact, the suite has an extra bathtub, which is not necessary. The rest is exactly the same as other rooms. It was only because someone canceled the reservation late that I accidentally got the opportunity to book.

I think it's very good. It's right opposite the dive shop. You can rest right after diving. It's very convenient. The room is clean and tidy, but the facilities are not good. The faucet in the room I stayed in leaked. Remember to bring mosquito coils. It's a single-family house, very retro, and the environment is very satisfactory. It's very comfortable to live in.

Had very pleasant stay here. The room was very big, acc worked very well and quietly. Bed very comfortable. Beautiful garden and pool. Location is great too, easy to reach every part of the island. Stuff friendly and helpful. Only downside is the food, but if you like fried rice and noodles you’ll be fine. Anyway very close to resort there is nice place to eat. Would definitely recommend and stay there once again. Very good value for the money. Oh and there is very well equipped gym!

The room was very clean and the bed was nice, like a princess bed. You can see the volcano across the street, which is a nice view. I was woken up by the chirping of chickens and birds every day, which was very comfortable. There were just a lot of mosquitoes in the mountains, but the hotel provided mosquito repellent, which was very considerate. The hotel also has a house by the sea, a restaurant, and a shuttle bus to and from the beach. It was very atmospheric to lie on the beach and listen to the band singing at night. The hotel manager speaks Chinese, which makes communication easy.

Great little houses, not expensive. There is air conditioning, a bed, a table, bedside tables. Breakfast in the neighboring warung. They cooked scrambled eggs and omelette and coffee for 20-30 minutes. The staff is responsive, we checked in in the morning. The downsides are that you can hear trucks farting as they go uphill and hot water, which may not be enough for a second stay. But everything is great, I recommend it. And yes, the road to the hotel is a bit unpaved with stones and a descent.

We came to Maua after our previous hotel cancelled within 24 hours of our arrival so trip.com organised a replacement. We hadn't looked at Penida but glad we ended up there as it was easier to visit the main island sights. Firstly, the location has stunning volcano and sunset views. They were incredible. The location as far as everything else goes however is only good if you do not need immediate access to a beach, bars, restaurants etc. There are a couple of homestay type restaurants within a 10 minute walk through what can only be described as a dirt track with many large, deep pot holes and puddles so get your hiking boots ready if you want to venture out. Everything else will need a taxi and they're expensive here. If you are happy to stay, eat and drink at the resort apart from day trips, the location is ideal. The staff were excellent. Linda gave us a very efficient and helpful check-in. The restaurant was quite slow but Ayu really looked after us, making our dining experiences more special along with the other staff. They were always very busy so i can only assume they are understaffed because it wasn't full of guests. The food was very well presented and (apart from the lamb chop which was like an old boot) mostly good quality with a good variety of healthy and regular, tasty food options. The breakfast has so many options, it was really very good. The Spa was good value and we had a very relaxing 150m treatment. 20 minute taxi ride from the harbour started at 250k. We negotiated the driver to 100k. Still more expensive than Thailand. The price of food here is quite steep and they add 21% service/VAT which is more than what you pay on Bali island. If you take a cab (or walk if feeling adventerous) to Crystal Beach, they have great food/drink options at reasonable prices. They have a no drone policy which is great, but be aware if they have wedding guests, you may have a drone flying over your 'private' pool/garden for a few hours which was very unsettling. After speaking to the manager, all was resolved quickly. We hired a taxi driver to take us to all of the east and west island sights, price 900k for the whole day (start 10am, arrive back around 6.30pm). All in all, this hotel is stunning and the rooms are great. The staff are simply excellent and we had a great experience on Penida. Thank you to the Maua staff for making the hotel a great place to stay.

This is what I like about the B&B I'm currently staying in. The decoration is nice and western-style, and the design is very simple and the effect is very good. The service is also super good, mainly the location is also very good, the view is very good
