This is a review for The Outlook Bar and Restaurant only. I went for the first time having seen some great reviews. The staff were very nice. I had asked for and was given a table by the window with a view of Rathlin Island. Gorgeous view, definitely worth going for the view alone. The menu is very limited, mostly burgers, pizza and pasta dishes. And it is not cheap for what it is. I had a Southern fried chicken burger. It came with a lot of dressings, red slaw which was nice and a jalapeño mayo which was ok. The chicken burger itself was quite spicy but very small and thin. It looked to me like a breast of chicken had been butterflied and I got half of it. I had garlic fries which turned out to be skinny chips with a garlic dressing. They looked just life frozen chips from a supermarket. I complained about them as they were so poor and they took the price (£5) off the bill. My friend has coeliac disease and it turns out all their pizzas and pasta dishes can be made GF. This was such a nice surprise as it is so difficult to get good GF food. He had a pizza which he picked the ingredients for himself. This was an excellent touch. I won't be rushing back for food but the views are lovely. And if you need GF food it is worth going.

Stayed here recently for our wedding anniversary celebration weekend. Hotel in beautiful location surrounded by wonderful views, exceptionally clean, tidy and well designed decor throughout. All staff were very friendly, cheerful and exceptionally helpful. Food and service absolutely excellent. The spa facilities were superb would highly recommend it.

Overall very disappointing… When we arrived… the receptionist lifted her head , we thought to welcome us, unfortunately she just looked back to her desk not uttering a single word! We wanted a pre dinner drink which appeared to be a problem… wanting us to go to our table even tho we arrived 25 min early.. Had to wait 20 min in the bar area to get two G & T at before taking our table paid over £9 for each of them! Now that is a rip off! Menu could have been little more varied..the prices could certainly not have been any more expensive… whilst the food was good, presentation and portion excellent it was considered a total rip off! It’s gives the impression that it’s just a food factory. No ambience or atmosphere in the place at all - staff could do with more training they should let the plate sit for more than 10 sec after you finish ! Mine was whisked away 10 sec after finishing- gave the impression could not wait to get you out the door! Certainly would nit be recommending it nor rushing back

Our room had poor natural light and the dark colour scheme made it feel drab. The temperature was low when we arrived but became much too hot later in the night. I couldn't figger out the thermostat and the window catch seemed to be jammed. Could do better. And a rock hammer was making a din when we arrived. Now the good bit. The dining room and bar are well appointed and have magnificent views. The dark colour scheme works here with all the natural light available. We only had breakfast and it was first class. Looking forward to visiting for dinner some time . The other good point was the quality of the staff -pleasant and helpful.

Located high above Ballycastle with stunning views this is s very relaxing hotel in which to chill out. Good parking.Receptions staff were lovely. Set around a lovely courtyard, it has a rather clean cut Scandi feel to the decor. Lovely dining room/bar/ relaxing room. Food and service was very good. The spa was excellent and the staff were very professional and good at delivering facials. Would definitely return.

I love coming here especially in the autumn/winter time as its so cosy! I had my first ever spa treatment, a relaxing facial, with their lovely therapist Julie who was friendly and chatty putting me at ease. Afterwards my friends said I looked so well rested and my skin was glowing. My only complaint- it went by too quickly! We ate in The Lookout after this, again a first for me, and it was absolutely delicious! The nicest pizza ive ever had and the desserts are to die for! As always the staff were all welcoming and very friendly.

From the outset we were filled with confidence that our stay would meet expectations; wonderful location, easy check in with wonderful friendly staff throughout, great service, exceptional food and a lovely room….unfortunately our stay was ruined by being woken at 7.30 am by construction works adjacent to our room, the work was so loud by the digger breaking ground and sending vibrations into the room that we had to get up and wait for our pre booked breakfast at 10am….at no point before arriving or on arrival were we informed of the works…I did mention this at checkout and was. Informed that this would be looked into…disappointing end to a promising stay 😞

Be aware There is major construction going on at the hotel with significant noise and disruption. I received an email 1 week ago that stated "there may be some construction noise" The reality was a large digger and crater directly outside the room. Please see picture. It started at 8am and was so loud you could feel the vibration in the floor. While I appreciate the work is necessary and beneficial to the hotel,I do not believe they were honest and open about the level of disruption. It is also not at all reflected in the price. On a positive note, dinner and breakfast were great with lovely service.

Our recent stay at the Salt House Hotel was disappointing due to unexpected major construction, which was not adequately communicated. We were informed of "a little construction" FOUR days before we left the US. The check-in process was chaotic and unfriendly, leaving us overwhelmed after a long drive. A "little" construction turned out to be an entire crater with construction equipment directly outside of what was supposed to be our relaxing porch, which had already been partially demolished. We could not even open the doors to allow fresh air into the overly heated room. Upon shutting the door to the room, a framed sign came crashing down onto my foot. The hotel did not offer any discounts or gestures to acknowledge the disruptive major construction, which greatly impacted the stay. Instead of a small compensation, there was no recognition of the situation at all. The spa experience was particularly disappointing, as it did not match the website’s description. Guests expected private tubs but found a dirty, overcrowded hot tub instead, with no enforcement of basic spa etiquette to other guests. This lack of serenity, privacy and cleanliness made for an unsatisfactory experience. The only highlight was the exceptional service from the restaurant staff, who were welcoming and attentive, providing a positive dining experience. We PAID for sparkling wine at arrival, (and I WISH we got his name) a very delightful server brought it to our room. He talked to us quietly, welcoming us to the hotel, and helpfully advised us to make a dinner reservation. At dinner, he came out of his way to chat with us and make us laugh. The restaurant was beautiful, and the staff wonderful, accommodating, and provided the experience we would expect in a fine dining restaurant. The food was delicious. The hotel staff could learn a few things from the restaurant staff. Hotel management should empower staff to make decisions that could improve guest experiences, as this stay was the most expensive yet the least enjoyable of our trip.
