The plus - Their location is very good, a short walk from BTS station. If you walk a little further, there is a Shopping Malls, Cinema, Bangkok Eastern Bus Station, and plenty of food shop/ Cafe. The renovated commercial building and its facility look brand new. My room has a window which is very rare for a small hostel in this area. Bed are comfortable, a small fridge and a safebox in a room, very functional and well equipped. The minus - I arrived exactly at 14.00 (recommended check in time) but found no one at the reception. I waited for over 20 minutes, tried to call the hotel but cannot contact anyone, I walked into the accommodation area and find maids who do not understand Thai or English, nor can they do anything about my check in. I have to wait a little more until the reception shows up. This is frustrating for me as I need to rush out for next appointment in town. It is totally fine that the staff need a break, but at least leave a message advise their return time, so I can advise me tardiness accordingly. It is also my safety concern that I can get into the accommodation section without any one acknowledge my presence at all. Other than that, this is a comfortable place to stay at this price range.

It is rather quiet and spacious on budget residence. Still the residence is close to the road, car, motorbike and ambulance noise. the taxi and the food you can use the app GRAB. I think it is less noisy like in Sathorn or Silom area. the people are very helpful. The cleaning ladies seem to do a lot of job. and you should ask to the front desk if they don't clean the room. The TV doesn't work. I arrived very late but the employee sent me a message to email. close to the nut BTS station. 10 min walks. and the Rotus(grocery chain) is at the BTS. It is better to buy from here than getting food in 7 eleven. room to room it is different. some room is roomy other is not. no bath tub. there is convenience store and local Thai food shop and some bars. and laundry shop. and massage shop. there are a lot of guests coming in and check out but you cant make a friend as it is not hostel. The TV should work. Walking around the neighborhood would be nice thing to do. although it should not be so hot during the day. you should definitely need short or tank top. and sometimes heavy shower so umbrella. there are not all of the place you can use credit card. so use the ATM. ............. ...... ...... .. ..

Location - nearby Phra Khanong BTS station (approx 5mins walking distance). But hotel do provide free transportation to this station, but u have to liaise with the receptionist. There is one 7-11 store nearby (approx 1mins walk). Mostly local street foods nearby this hotel. Transportation - I took DMK airport taxi to this hotel (40mins drive) and cost me THB370 (inclusive of THB50 airport surcharge and THB50 toll fee). It’s very convenient to take BTS to siam, pratunam or chilom area (about 20mins train ride. You may buy a one day BTS pass which offer unlimited ride in a day. Breakfast - good variety come with various fruits, drinks and dishes. Overall - highly recommended.

Just what you would expect from Ibis. Good location. Chill vibe. Early check in, friendly staff. Clean, basic room with all the Essentials. Excellent Housekeeping. Great Coffee and Bar near the reception. Love the patio for the smokers and dreamers. Highly recommended for solo travellers/friends. PS: Very Economical and excellent value for money.

Most outstanding is locality , although the double beds room is smaller compared to Phra Khanong Ibis but the breakfast is fabulous. The hotel building is shared between Ibis and Mercury hotel . I will definitely stay in again when I visit Bangkok again .

It was my third trip to the hotel during the last months and I was very disappointed to see that the service quality is degrading . When I checked in , Jane , the receptionist , was having not a nice attitude , creating a feeling of not very satisfied from her work place . Later on , we arrived the room and it had some hair on the floor - indicating that the cleaning is not their first priority . The breakfast is good and the location as well

It seems to be a spot for touristy photographers and at nights it has a great bar with good looking people and expensive drinks. The hotel itself is not the freshest, but it has a good standard of cleanliness. Price value is good, especially when you book in advance. For some additional Baht there is even upgrade options to the suite, which has a jacuzzi in the middle of the room. The windows are thin, but clean, AC is working fine and the safe is working. Fridge contains free refill beverages every day. The pool could have a better view and maintenance, but a cold beer in the water compensates for everything.

Habituellement, je n’aime pas faire une évaluation négative sur un hôtel dans lequel j’ai séjourné car je sais que celle-ci peut altérer sa réputation et c’est souvent ses employés qui en pâtissent, quand bien même ils n’en portent aucune responsabilité. Je me permettrai tout de même une petite exception pour cet Ibis Style Sukhumvit 50 à Bangkok. Il faut dire que la Thaïlande a édicté des mesures très contraignantes pour toute personne entrant dans ce pays et c’est ainsi qu’elle a su maintenir un taux de contamination passablement bas par rapport au reste du monde. Néanmoins, sans céder à aucune forme de paranoïa, je pense que quelques améliorations pourraient être mises en place afin de participer au bien-être de ses hôtes « ASQ ». La peur que le Corona puisse éventuellement être transmis aux employés de l’hôtel par des individus en quarantaine, engendre des situations ubuesques ! Le remplacement de la literie n’étant pas prévu avant le premier test COVID, il a fallu que j’insiste pour que l‘on m’apporte de la lingerie et que je puisse effectuer cet échange après plus d’une semaine passée dans cet établissement. C’est seulement après le 10ème jour que le service de maison a pris le soin de nettoyer ma chambre. Les repas n’étaient pas de grande qualité. La Thaïlande est réputée pour sa gastronomie, j’aurais apprécié que cet établissement y fasse honneur. Une alimentation goûteuse et de qualité aurait contribué à parfaire mon séjour. Contrairement à d’autres gites, il m’a parfois été distribué du « réchauffé de l’avant-veille » dans des couverts en plastique jetables. J’aurais particulièrement apprécié que tous les petits déjeuners soient agrémentés de jus de fruits. Au niveau récréatif, ce n’était pas Byzance non-plus ! Il n’est pas agréable de passer 15 jours confiné dans une chambre sans avoir la possibilité d’ouvrir les fenêtres. La toiture a été recouverte d’un tapis vert et il n’y avait aucune structure qui permette de faire du sport, pas de piscine, juste 6 box aménagés d’une table et d’une chaise et c’est seulement après une semaine que j’ai enfin pu en bénéficier durant un peu plus de 45 minutes les cinq premiers après-midis qui ont suivi mon premier test PCR, ce fut une bouffée d’air sans pareil comparativement au système vicié de ma chambre. Ce n’aurait pas été un luxe si la connexion internet ne subissait pas autant de pannes à répétition et qu’elle ait été plus rapide (~18 Mbits/s). Une savonnette aurait pu être mise à disposition près du lavabo. Cependant, le personnel était très sympathique et très réactif. L’hôtel était calme et bien entretenu. Il est situé légèrement en dehors du centre, proche des citernes du fleuve « Chaopraya ». Parfois, derrière le grillage de ma fenêtre, j’apercevais un mirador et de temps à autre un employé de la raffinerie y faisait une ronde à bicyclette. The hotel feels a bit 'old', but it's nice, clean and quiet. I was on the 5th floor and internet worked really well for the 3 weeks I was there. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the pool was closed. It didn't bother me personally, but for some people this might be a downer. Also, not everyone knows exactly how the microwave in the lobby works. I had two 7-Eleven meals that weren't properly heated after opening them. For families it's good to know that this hotel is in the same street as Nana Plaza, one of the red-light districts in Bangkok. It's actually a really small part of Soi 4, but during the evening a lot of girls are there trying to hook up with men for sex (and even more ladyboys, who can be quite persistent). For me as a single guy, this was sometimes a little annoying, but never a problem, but as a family, you might want to keep this in mind. Having said that, the hotel is 'guest friendly', meaning you can have a person (or two) visit you with no additional charge (just make sure they leave their ID at the reception). While the hotel and maybe the street itself might not be everyone's cup of tea, I had a really good time there and I have no complaints about the hotel. I actually thought the location was great. The hotel is in a 14-minute walking distance from BTS Nana, the so-called Skytrain, which makes it easy to move around the city. Additionally, you can take the train (MRT) to go to different places where the BTS doesn't go. The closest train station is Sukhumvit and it's located near the Terminal 21 shopping mall at Asok BTS. So... in short... I recommend this hotel. :-)

Spoiler alert - I've had significant problems with Marriott recently. We tried Best Western as much out of desperation as anything, using the BW status match to get Diamond Elite. Conclusion is one word - amazing! I've tried status matches before but they have rarely paid off. The Best Western offer and outcomes though are superb. We were matched immediately to the top tier and were offer a new promotion as soon as we joined. Took it and now have 10,000 points on a roll and just booked our next stay for the end of the month. Try it... it's a great offer! To the hotel... I used to stay on Soi 18 a decade o so ago and had forgotten this little corner of the Sukhumvit area. The world has changed drastically since then but Soi 20 has signs of life and so we were quite happy when we rolled up to the BW Plus @ 20. It is not a big property, there are (very) limited parking options and it doesn't have an onsite catering facility that is open. But... we were upgraded immediately to a suite and those rooms, for the price we paid, would be hard to beat in any property in central Bangkok. Large lounge with a desk; large bathroom - with a bath where I fell asleep one night it was that comfortable! - and double sinks... all the basics there and then the separate bedroom is large and well-appointed. It is not a new property and there were some maintenance issues that needed resolving like some plug sockets not working and no bath plug. But for goodness sake... we paid less than 1500 baht and would have paid three times that (and currently much more, what IS going on with Marriott in Bangkok?) for less facilities along Sukhumvit. The hotel doesn't have F&B but does get a 20% discount at The Deck next door and we had a very decent supper there the second night, good quality food and a broad menu. Compliments also to Kawin, who checked us in the first night and was doing Reception almost single-handedly. No fuss, no bother and very good service. Thank you Kawinm Best Western and we're booked to go back in a couple of weeks time, fingers crossed for that complimentary upgrade (again!). Final message to my friends at Marriott - Best Western are eating your lunch, guys.
