As a Marriott Bonvoy member, over the years, my experience at various Marriott hotels vary from pleasant to outstanding. Looking at the reviews for this hotel, I expected a pleasant experience at the very least. After the check in (on a Sunday evening) and getting into the room, I noticed the toilet had pink rings in it which means it hadn’t been cleaned in at least a couple of weeks. I thought that it would be cleaned by the next day. When my husband and I arrived back to the room Monday evening tired, we saw the beds were not made, the garbage was not taken out and rings in the toilet were still there. My husband went to the front desk and asked to clean the room. He was told they could only refresh the room i.e. deliver more towels and pick up garbage. Funny COVID policy is being used to remove maid services at this place although none of the staff anywhere is wearing a mask! I wish we were informed upon checking in but no one told us this is the policy. I can handle the bed not being made and deal with the garbage. I cannot handle having to use the toilet with pink rings. I also got annoyed having a broken body wash bottle which made us difficult to get the wash out into the palm. So after dealing with all of this, in Thursday, I took a picture of the toilet and showed it to the woman who was attending the front desk, the tall one with big hair. I told her it had been like that from day 1 and the room hadn’t been cleaned and it needed it. All she said was it gets refreshed (garbage out, deliver towels) after 3 days. She did not say anything more or follow up or apologize for this situation. Since we were checking out on Saturday, we no longer keep asking and just wanted to get the heck out of there. By the way, the microwave in the breakfast room had also been filthy and looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. First time in Cincinnati (had a great productive experience except for the hotel) and for business, we’ll be back again but won’t be staying at this hotel when we return.
