We had a family function in the Okoboji area, but didn't want to pay $140-$200 for a room. So, we looked up Spencer (about 15-20 minutes south) and found the EconoLodge. It's a simple, no-frills motel, but we didn't have any complaints at all. It was *hot* when we were there, but the A/C worked great. Rooms were fairly spacious, and had everything you'd need -- fridge, microwave, small table with 2 chairs, and a very large flat screen TV. And as someone else already mentioned, the beds & pillows were great, too. Their breakfast was nice, too. There was only seating for about 15-20, but it never got too crowded. They had a waffle maker, cereal, fruit, eggs, and biscuits & gravy, yogurt, and some other odds & ends. They did a great job of keeping everything stocked throughout the morning. We were more than happy with our stay!
