Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh

Location was a bit of walk from Waverley station about 10mins and located on the main street. Breakfast selection was good, no less expected from Marriott group. Room was big and clean. Overall a pleasant stay.

Overall excellent Hotel very strategic location to Waverley Train station,bus stop and St James mall Staff at breakfast area very friendly and attentive to service Just that hotel shower area needs better maintenance - stains on bathroom walls

Check in was handled professionally and the receptionist went on extra miles to share places of interest to visit and where to go for food and how. Rooms were spotless, spacious with adequate amnesties provided. If I were to visit Edinburgh again, I would know where to stay now.

The location of the hotel is very convenient and the car park facilities is also near if driving as it is in the city area. The room I booked is a queen's bed with the request of high floor. Actually I checked in quite early that day at around two o clock but the reception gave me a 2nd floor assessbility room which was out of my expectation. Upon my request, they can only changed to a standard twin room on 4th floor. The water pressure of the shower is very poor and made us very unpleasant. The breakfast was just up to standard. Only the food at 1802 restaurant is good at dinner time.

I stayed in courtyard by Marriot, Baxter place for 6 days, as a solo senior female traveler and I highly recommend this hotel. Staff were all friendly, patient , attentive and courteous. They answered all questions with a smile , advising & assisting in whatever way they could. Counter is manned 24h. Room was clean & spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows, a large work table with plugs nearby and comfortable chair, walk in shower with easily adjustable water temperature. (A small recommendation would be to pad the table legs as can be quite painful if you accidentally kicked it.) Housekeeping was consistent and unobtrusive. Staff oriented me on how to adjust room heating and cooling when asked. There are 2 lifts and a ramp at entrance for those worried about dragging their luggages.  Although I didn’t patronize but knowing there was an  in-house restaurant and room service was reassuring for those wet cold or tired days when you don’t feel like venturing out. There’s also a small market for essentials. Ice cubes & a microwave is also available.  Technical support came quickly when I wasn’t sure regarding door lock system. Location is excellent, within 5 min walk of Picardy tram line stop which is a  cheap and convenient means to & from Edinburgh Airport.  Hotel is about 10-15 min walk to Princess street with many restaurants within 3-5 min walk. The playhouse theater is just next door. I am so happy to have chosen your hotel-Thank you for your services and support. Special shoutout to Zheni and Yura.
