Great staff - I booked at about 2.30pm today last minute for tonight - turned up around 7.30pm to find out the hotel was closed that evening and I’d actually booked for the next night! The lovely guy in charge realised the predicament I was in and gave us a lovely room for the night! Brilliant!!

Booked in at the last minute while travelling around Scotland. Thought it was expensive but didn’t have much choice at the final hour. Room was only about half cleaned, sockets falling out of walls, very outdated and only 1 pillow on the bed. Staff were helpful so no issue there but the place was ‘scruffy’ at best. Wouldn’t stay again.

When we couldn’t find a place to dine, the hotel owner saved the night for us. Despite the restaurant being closed, Leon, a gentleman from Jerez, went out of his way to serve us a delicious dinner. He even treated us to a whisky after-hours! If you’re lucky, you might meet Leon’s parents, two lovely elderly folks full of energy, who’ll entertain you with their stories during dinner.

A lovely 2 night stay here with my sister . We had booked a double room and as the hotel wasn’t full the kind owner offered us a second room so we could be even more comfortable. Our rooms were cozy and warm and the beds were so comfortable . A highlight was the delicious freshly prepared food. We can recommend the Mia Cassa and the risotto verde. The wine and the whisky selection are also good. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel and restaurant are very reasonably priced. We had a great stay here and will definitely recommend to friends and family. We will be back! Thank you Leon

Don't stay here!! The carpet was very dirty, the toilet didn't flush well, all the furniture was old & worn, & you could feel the bed springs! We thought being close to Glencoe this would be a nice place. If we ever return to this area we'll stay in Fort William!

This place is on the avoid list. We paid a staggering £175 and what we got was a shabby shell of a hotel, a soulless ‘bar’ that doubles up as a cavernous entry hall, a dreary restaurant, an uncomfortable bed and zero charm and atmosphere. The worst place we have stayed at on our Scotland holiday. If you are in the area, do have a meal at The Holly Tree a few miles away on the edge of the loch - excellent food and a refreshing break from the dreadful hotel.

Excellent place to stay. The room was enormous, clean, very comfortable, quiet and great view from the room. There is seating outside the front to enjoy the view and a well kept garden. No hassle. The staff are attentive but if you don't have any queries and the like then they stay out of your way.

Excellent hotel with stunning views. Rooms are Mediterranean in style and staff very friendly. Napoleon's Restaurant was a wee gem, great food and excellent value. You certainly get a full plateful for your money. I'll certainly be back.

We had two rooms here. My impression is that some couple bought the place as a dream b-n-b, but were unaware of how expensive turning an lodge around can be. I think they must be remodeling when they can. My sons room was remodeled and had a gigantic bath but no shower. We had a little bath/shower that needed some jostling. The views were spectacular but our chairs were too short to sit in and look out. My son’s room had great chairs. Biggest issue was cleaning: the trim and details needed a swipe of soap and water. Actually, they needed an overall painter to sparkle the place so it was not shabby. Another problem: they charged £8 for a cold breakfast, just cereal and juice. They need a buffet or free breakfast. No one was around. Meanwhile, the dinner was excellent and popular.they had Mediterranean dishes. Yes, I’d stay here again. It is not accessible for those of us with bad legs but we can make it up the stairs. Overall, it’s a good location and very pleasant. I think they do their best.
