We just loved Gotyhenberg and the location next to the rail station of this scandic was just great. We chose it cause of thre breakfast and werent disappointed. The variety was just lovely. The room was small but cosy-the bed also small but very comfortable. The shower and facilities were nice. I am a tall person, so would have appreciated a slightly bigger room, but I am guessing there arent any, which isnt a big issue in itself. The big critique for us was the lack of helpful reception- we have come to get used to customer service oriented staff around the world where we have stayed, but when needing help to obtain a refund for a misprinted airport bus ticket, we were told they couldnt call and we would need to do so from the room at a cost. We just couldnt grasp this response as it seemed completely unhelpful and cold. Please can you address this for next time as when you are staying in a stange place what you need most is helpful, ”cant do enough for you” and customer oriented staff-otherwise why would you return?

A beautifully designed hotel with friendly staff. There were so many nice touches and the room (although rather small) had everything you'd expect and more. Stayed here for 3 nights and I wish I'd stayed longer. The breakfast was exceptional, so much choice and the quality was phenomenal. Had a gothic baroque feel to the decor and the location in the centre of Gothenburg was ideal. They even stored my bag and provided me with free coffee after I'd checked out. Incredible value for money too.

You have to take the poster out there in the hotel literally: it depends on what is in it. Yes, you're scared because it looks like a motel, because it looks like a hotel, but it's good. With covers: - large rooms. Yes the cable is a disaster :-) but it has enough room for the baggage, it is mainly clean, the beds are very comfortable, the baths super, since new. Air conditioning works properly. Interesting: you can sit in the garden and there in the green through small stairs. Class, we had a dog with it... Noisy? No, there is a motorway running behind the house, the tram on the other side, but noisy is it! - Location: SUPER. We with car and roofbox, there is as well as no hotel in Göteborg where you can park with it. The train tram drives in 20 minutes to the opera. The fast bus in a station (eight minutes) to the train station. The hotel can be driven without City Maut. - Kitchen: better than expected. You varie, it tastes good, buffet always filled and clean. Coffee machine with all the variations. I would like more vegetarian variations. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't follow cleaning. But there are also guests who are too harmful for everything. - Personal: good, friendly, informative. I had already noticed at the prior calls. - Deficiencies: clearly available. Cleanliness at the doors to the parking lots is not available. Attacks to the windows were curved with violence (but did yet), tape floors in the river, okay. We were very satisfied with our choice, and the hotel also very well recommended.

Rooms and facilities are ok but the poor rating is exclusively for the restaurant service. The first evening we (2 persons) waited 40 minutes to order after we got seated by the waiter and received the menu. Three waiters working and about 20 guests i total, so not crowded and not busy. After 40 minutes we left, no drinks and no food. The three waiters stood and chatted with each other in the lounge bar. Second evening we wanted to try again. This time we ordered drinks and food as the waiter seated us, just to make sure… It took 20 minutes to even get the beer. This evening about 15 guests seated with same three waiters working, so not crowded. When food and drinks finally showed up it was really fine. So good grades for the kitchen!

Very central hotel located close to the train station. Super nice service at reception and fantastic servive in the oak bar, You have to visit this bar. Nice clean rooms and friendly staff. A littel bit crowdy at breakfast and hard to get seats, So choose another time than peak time when the hotel is almost full. But overall a great place to stay.

Judging by the good reviews dating 2 or 3 years back, and my recent experience, I'd say this hotel probably suffered from the pandemic. On the plus side, the boat is beautiful, the location good, the welcome warm, and the breakfast was excellent. On the downside, the room was tired and shabby, had not been properly serviced, and the staff were somewhat confused. On an old ship, I'd expect the rooms to be old. But there was no closet to store clothes, just a couple of hangers dangling from loosely fitted hooks on the wall. The furniture was ancient, and the whole room needed renovation. There was only a tiny hand towel in the bathroom, and the trash was un-emptied. The service was also uneven to say the least. It was actually quite friendly, until we were told that the top deck was out of bounds and we had to stay ”inside”. We were not asked to prepay, and there was no-one in reception the following morning. We had to telephone a number written down at the desk to get someone to show up and take our money, and the checkout process took 20 minutes. In short, this looks like it was once an excellent hotel, but at least some of the rooms badly need renovating, and the whole business could do with an injection of professionalism.
