Hotel Grindelwalderhof is an absolutely incredible place to stay, quite possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed at - their First suite is just mind-blowing, totally above what was expected. Nice mountain view from the room, but the room is not big. The hotel located 10 mins walk from the Grindlewald station and 2 mins walk from the First Bahn to go Grindlewald First. The breakfast is nice but it’s only open at 7am hence it’s quite rush if you have early activity which you have to leave the hotel early e.g to go to Jung frau.

We are staying in Grindelwald for a couple of days and we spent one night in this hotel.
The location is a bit far away from the train station and it’s exhausting to carry heavy luggage over the slopes between station and hotel.
The price is reasonable and the balcony view of Eiger is stunning. The hotel looks quite old where no ventilation system can be found in washroom. Wi-Fi signal is poor and we were unable to connect it in the room.
We appreciate the breakfast as the food quality is good but seems the number of staff is limited. They are required to work in the reception for check in/out enquiries and at the same time busy rushing to the breakfast area to clean up the tables and food.

The hotel is on the way to the First cable car, Bort station, more than 1,600 meters above sea level, from the Grindelwald train station by car, about 20 minutes, the mountain trail 18 bends, test the car skills but the scenery is beautiful, the snow mountain is in front of you. It is said that the navigation information of Apple Map is not allowed, and it is very crazy to ask for help from the hotel. Finally, it depends on Baidu map (the domestic SIM card cannot be used on Google). We have 2 big 2 small booking triple rooms (the youngest is only 3 years old), there is no problem with staying. The room is not luxurious but clean and comfortable. Dinner is good, 4 people 80 yuan to get. There is a children's playground next to them and the children have a great time. In short, the scenery is first-class, self-driving is still convenient and comfortable, recommended.

I've been coming to Regina for several decades. It has always been a home away from home. It is one of very few hotels that has managed to keep the luxury and allure throughout many years. They adhere to a very high standard on every level. For many it might feel antiquated, but if you're looking for something that is truly unique, that has stood the test of time and is not just another generic modern day luxury hotel, this is the place to be. There's not many hotels where you can sit in a lounge by a warm log fire, playing a board game while a pianist is playing. It's a hotel that is filled with history, warmth and kindness.

The location, the appearance is first-class, the room facilities are relatively old, and the antique furniture is also popular. It is not as good as expected, but it is not bad. You can drive into the hotel. The road is relatively narrow. There is an access control card on the last section of the road. Finally, I contacted the hotel in advance to ask for the password. Will take the initiative to tell you these precautions. Regarding the up and down of the cable car, sit for a while, hotel guests are free, you need to show your room card, remember to watch the timetable, don't miss the last bus. The view of the restaurant is very good and the service is attentive, but the food is as bad as ever, oh, I am not saying that this hotel is bad, I mean that all restaurants in Switzerland are bad (this breakfast is very good, you can go early, choose Facing the location of the waterfall, but the dinner is really hard to describe), unpalatable is one thing, full of ritual, each dish is served slowly, come up to explain to you what raw materials are used in this dish, how to make it, and if you actually taste it All restaurants in Switzerland, including but not limited to this one, are lacking in color and fragrance. My wife waited for the desserts to be served and hurriedly retreated. She panicked and forgot to take the bag. There is one thing to say, the service is still very good, the waiter put the bag at the front desk. Rory talked about it in a long way, hoping to be useful to the tourists behind.

I was uncertain about staying here as there were mixed reviews, but I am VERY glad I did. I extended my stay twice! I was upgraded to the ”chalet”, a modern adjacant building in chalet style, where I had a spacious room with everything one could want, including great views & a balcony. The breakfast buffet in the spacious dining room was excellent, a very full range & lots of choice - everything from hot bacon & eggs to a variety of cold meats & cheeses to cereals & a great coffee machine. Parking is spacious & free (rare in this area) Interlaken is an interesting destination - but you do pay for that!! Typically at least double the price I paid to stay here. As the hotel is about 1km from town, it is best to have a car here; or bikes; or enjoy walking.

How nice it was to return to the Rössli hote in its quiet, convenient location only a five minute walk from Interlaken West railway/bus/boat interchange, from where you can explore the beautiful Bernese Oberland region and farther afield using the excellent Swiss Transport system. The hotel is a traditional, homely, unpretentious, clean and well managed establishment with friendly and helpful staff. Christopher the owner speaks six languages and he and the rest of the multi-lingual reception staff can help provide local excursion tickets, information leaflets and general help with your itineraries that save queuing at the station or local tourist information centre. The hotel provides the Interlaken Guest Card that allows for local bus and rail transport within the town and offers discounts at local shops and attractions. My room at the Rössli was very clean, simply furnished with a very comfy bed, writing desk, multi-channel TV, safe, electrical sockets including USB ports plus a shower and toilet. There is a compact lift that operates between reception and the first and second floor, whilst remaining access to the third floor is via stairs. 24 hour free tea/coffee is available in the ground floor lounge along with a large screen TV with video options. There is also a small multi-lingual library and a microwave cooker plus utensils available so guests may bring in and heat up their own foods. On the second floor is another TV lounge with video library and children’s play area. Breakfasts at the Rössli are continental style with a yummy scrambled egg and bacon option plus the usual cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, jams, yoghurts and fruit juices. Tea and coffee are served at your tables by their friendly staff including Jean Louis (Christopher’s dad) who provides humorous commentary and useful pearls of tourist wisdom to his many returning guests. The hotel also provides free parking and offers a pay as you go laundry facility. Across the road from the hotel are a pharmacy, Bank ATM, Pizza restaurant and within 150m is a well stocked Co-oP from where you can stock up on drinks, fruit and snacks that will sustain your on your daily travels. As the hotel is very popular, I would advise booking early to avoid disappointment. If you want a family friendly, cosy retreat that won’t entirely empty your wallet, then I would recommend the Rössli without hesitation.

We had one night here en route to the south, but would like to come back and explore the area further. We thought that the room rate and breakfast were excellent value, particularly for Switzerland. The hotel has been well maintained to a good 4 star level (it's a 5 star review, but for a 4 star hotel). Nice, old fashioned decor (1890s Belle Epoque meets 1980s), lovely people at reception, a grand room for the restaurant (not used) and for breakfast) and very comfortable beds. We will return!
Read genuine traveler ratings & reviews to find your perfect stay.

Outstanding
李李家的木The helpful reviews are accurate. Awesome room view and great service from all staff. We have two adults and one child and they connected two single beds and provided and extra bed. I would say just book (level 4 lifestyle room) with a peace of mind and do remember to bring your own toiletries.
GGuest UserVery good stay in Grindelwald in this well located hotel . Price is high for this type of hotel, but this is Grindelwald. Our room was clean, large with a nice view on the Eiger. The bathroom was a bit small. Despite the fact that every room overlook the street, insulation was perfect. Beds were comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. We had dinner at the restaurant every night. The food was good but the menu needs to be extended. Same for the wine list. The parking lot is very small and access is difficult for a SUV for example. I recommend this hotel if you don't want to spend a lot of money in a 4 stars one.
GGuest UserGrindelwald is a wonderful place to visit and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel Sonnenberg so much . Lovely room and worth paying a little extra for a balcony with a mountain view . Sitting out there in the evening watching the sun set on the mountains was priceless . Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice to set you up for the day . Only a few minutes walk down to the Main Street with all the restaurants etc and the station . Would love to return again one day .
QQIANIt’s about a 10-minute walk from the train station, which is not very far, but it’s a little tired if it rains with a suitcase. It takes only 2 minutes to walk to the First cable car station, which is very convenient. It is worth mentioning that if you choose to include dinner when booking the hotel, it is really super cost-effective ~ delicious and rich, every day I will seriously post menus everywhere, and I am responsible for saying that this is the level of Fine Dining, such a dinner Any restaurant should be above 120 francs per capita. The restaurant environment is also nothing to say, the service quality is very good ~ excellent experience, rich breakfast, worth the price, super recommended. They also gave home-made potato chips when they left. If it is not enough, it may be that the facilities in the room are average~ but it is very clean, the balcony is facing the mountain, beautiful!
GGuest UserThe pinnacle, quite literally, of our Swiss trip was in the beautiful alpine village of Grindelwald. The Konzett family runs their historic, charming boutique hotel in the heart of the village, convenient to everything including the train station. The hotel is a thoughtfully appointed, subtly luxurious hotel with super friendly and professional staff. This was the first European trip for our grandchildren, and the staff made certain it would be a trip of a lifetime for them. The Hotel Kreuz & Post was the perfect choice for both the adults and children. The staff is top drawer--professional, kind, extra accommodating and everything you would expect in a luxury hotel. Highest recommendation for an authentic stay in the Swiss Alps. Kudos to all the Konzetts and staff!
侠侠The hotel is a four-star hotel, the waiters are dressed in traditional clothes, the breakfast is delicious, and the coffee is very good. There is a free snack in the afternoon, but the drinks are paid. The hotel is located inside, some distance from the railway station, and it is Panshan Road. If you carry the suitcase, it is best to take the bus or contact the hotel in advance.
We enjoyed our stay with Bernerhof Hotel very much. Location is very convenient, only 5 mins walk from train station. And another 5 mins to Coop supermarket, which is good for all kind of vital purchases. Having the view of Eiger at the front of the hotel is definitely a huge bonus for anyone who wants great photo opportunity. Of course, that also must depends on the weather. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and all are within walking distance from the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, attend to our request promptly. The breakfast though not lavish but it served our needs, and my wife loves the croissant there. Overall we are happy with our experience.
GGuest UserWe were hiking from Schynige platte til First, and had clearly underestimated the hike and perhaps overestimated our own ability. When we reached First, the gondola down to Grindelwald was closed (for anyone else, please note that they close it rather early (17:30-18:00-ish) considering how long a hike it is from Schynige Platte, and start as early as possible, since it takes quite some time to even reach Schynige Platte with the mountain train from Wilderswil). We called the hotel, to let them know, that we were coming but it would take some time, as we had to walk down from First on very sore legs. Steffie from the reception (sorry if this is not the correct spelling of your name) was incredible kind, and tried to help us as best as possible, and directed us to the hotel halfway down, where we could try to call for a taxi. We made it to the hotel, and as luck would have it, a taxi pulled in at the same time, as it was driving some people up to the hotel up there. If you should happen to end up in the same situation, try calling a taxi and see if they will go all the way up to First. It should be possible but will of course cost a bit to get them up there. The hike down to the hotel halfway down was quite steep, so hard on the knees. We were delighted to crawl into the taxi and get driven all the way to the hotel door. Here we met Steffie, who kindly offered to open up the spa area just for us, as it had closed before we were able to reach the hotel, and would not open until after we had to check out the next day. We were too tired at that point, and were in stead allowed to go in the spa the next day, despite having checked out at that point. We ordered some food from Steffie and got it sent up to our room, and enjoyed a meal, a nice bath and a comfortable bed. The next day, we enjoyed a very nice breakfast with champagne. Best of all was the employee cooking up omelets on order at the breakfast bar. We checked out. Stored our luggage at the hotel and went for a walk in town, before heading back to the hotel and enjoying the spa after it had opened. Steffie provided us with a key to the spa, and we were then lucky enough to be able to enjoy the spa all to ourselves. Definitely recommend using it when it opens up around noon if you have the opportunity. The infinity pool was just amazing in the sunlight and with the mountains in the background. Absolutely recommend this hotel, and a very big thank you to Steffie for the great service!
QQIANThe hotel is halfway up the hill, some distance from the Grindelwald center and the train station. The hotel also has a shuttle bus that can be transported. We are self-driving. There is free parking in the hotel. It is relatively close to the cable car station of the first mountain. There are not many types of breakfast at the hotel. But it is enough, the biggest feature is the scenery, so beautiful! Whether it is a room or a place to have breakfast, look out for the snowy mountain, if you come to grindelwald next time, you will stay here!
