"The view from the room is amazing. You can use the outdoor pool across the street! It's spacious and special. The indoor pool is cold, and there is only one jacuzzi, so you need to be careful. I was worried about the smell of the water in the room. It's not a new hotel, so that was a bit of a concern, but the service and location are good, so I recommend it overall."

"Friendly staff, but completely unprofessional, as they only seem to employ the cheapest migrant workers. The breakfast was below average. For example, potato hash browns from the day before were served again, dried out. Everything, absolutely everything, is run-down and worn out. It's clear that everything here has been allowed to deteriorate for over 30 years, and the guest demographic is turning into that of a youth hostel. Endless groups of children and teenagers make you wonder if they pay the same as regular tourists. A rattling elevator, a broken safe in the room, shower water that trickles out after an exercise in patience from a wall plug – and to top it all off, the pool was closed. This place is an absolute disgrace. The only redeeming quality is the great location, which is something you can make peace with. This hotel truly embodies the decline of old Europe. My thanks, however, to the older gentleman who gave me a warm welcome on arrival day. That was much appreciated."

"Nice hotel with very friendly personel. My room was spacious and clean but facing the wall and therefore dark at all times, it was also hard to get fresh air in. Breakfast good but could be better. Pool and sauna areas are very poor, very small and not really mantained good. When I tried to use sauna the floor was flooded from shower and there is nowhere you can sit/lie down/put your belongings."

"The Location was somewhat convenient, near the outskirts of sliema and probably the only saving grace alongside the facilities. We had an issue when arriving as I had originally booked the room with a double bed and a sofa bed. However, we were given a room with two single beds, no sofa bed and a disabled access bathroom. When bringing this up with the hotel staff they insisted it was our fault for not informing them despite booking well in advance and it clearly being stated on our booking. When they placed us in the new room (with a double bed and sofa) we were pleasantly surprised seeing swatted mosquitoes stuck to the ceiling. I have been to many novotels and particularly enjoyed my stays in London etc. This has had to be the worst experience in a novotel yet. This experience compared to the Barcelo at the top of sliema was terrible (would recommend Barcelo so much more). I will definitely not be choosing this novotel again for my next visit."
