Villa Shenandoah overlooks Kandy city and is located high above surrounded by jungle with local monkeys that visit from time to time. The staff are helpful and friendly and I was looked after by the owner who organised a day trip of Kandy which was action packed, as well as driving me to my next location the following day. The pool was pleasant to swim in and dinner was taken on a small terrace. My room was in the main building and very large but a little run down. It did have a fridge though as well as a/c and the usual coffee/tea facilities. As a solo traveller I felt safe and cared for.

A beautiful place to stay when you visit Kandy. The villa offers very large rooms with a beautiful view of the mountains.It has a very nice garden with a very very nice pool. The restaurant makes delicious food! Try the prawn curry :) Very friendly people!

We had a great stay at Shenandoah. The breakfast and dinner options were both great, the room was nice and the pool is fantastic with an amazing view over the mountains. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We went on several excursions with Dinuk and he was amazing. Really interesting and knowledgable and very friendly too. I would definitely recommend staying here and travelling with Dinuk to experience Kandy and the surrounding areas!

We enjoyed an excellent stay at villa Shenandoah. The owner/manager Dinuk went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, including upgrading our room free of charge and giving us Christmas gifts! The breakfasts and dinners were excellent and hotel staff were attentive and charming. The villa is in a great and quiet location overlooking Kandy with great views to the mountains beyond. This was our favourite hotel from our month long stay travelling around Sri lanka, would highly recommend 10/10.

This hotel is a 10! Super great deal for the money. The breakfast was Huge and delicious! The rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. All rooms have a fridge, AC, hot water and large bed. The mattress was thick and perfect firmness for both my girlfriend and I. The staff and owner were so friendly. They helped us with everything we neededneeded, especially Mahendren. Everything on their menu was fresh and a good price. The hotel is located high up from the city in a peaceful hill top overlooking mountains and nature. They have four rooms and a gorgeous pool. With so few rooms it feels like you have the place to yourself. We relaxed by the pool most of the day and Mahendren brought us drinks, food and water to the pool or our hotel room. Our room was separated from the main home. It had a patio with a gorgeous very of the mountains. We highly recommend the mango lassi and passion fruit mojito. We met two other couples who all raved about the hotel and commented that it looked even better than the pictures! They only wish they stayed longer LOL. Support locals and stay here. Things to note: You are surrounded by nature so we had a few ants inside the room but they were no bother at all. The outside lights infront of our room atracted insects and could see bats flying by for a night snack. The entire hotel area power shuts off from around 6:30-7:30pm. At first we thought it was a nuisance but it is was the perfect time star gazing. At about 8 am some birds were pecking on the windows. I guess they thought their reflection was another bird haha. Overall highly recommend staying here.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The view of Kandy is very beautiful. The staff are very helpful and you are really well looked after. The infinity pool is fantastic! The food was very good - unfortunately not all dishes on the menu were available. We can recommend this accommodation without reservation.

Villa Shenandoah is a fantastic hotel near Kandy. It is located high in the hills above the city, so you have a fantastic view from your room, at the pool or from the restaurant terrace. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. You can go there for excellent service (transport to Kandy, arranging a train to Ella, transport to Nuwara Eliya). Mr. Dinuk (the owner) also helped us with a problem with our next accommodation, for which we thank you again! The room was spacious, the wifi & air conditioning excellent and the shower pleasant. The hotel has a very good restaurant and offers an excellent breakfast. The hotel also has a laundry service, which was certainly welcome after almost two weeks of touring Sri Lanka :-) We can definitely recommend this location!

Wir haben uns für dieses Hotel entschieden, da es abseits vom lauten Kandy ist und wir dort Ruhe gesucht haben. Eine Oase soll es sein. Dem war aber überhaupt nicht so. Eine Gruppe von jungen Sri Lanki mit Boombox hat Party am Pool und danach bei der Villa gemacht. Direkt hinter unserem Schlafzimmer. Am ersten Tag war es somit nicht möglich, den Pool zu benutzen. Nur auf Anfrage an das Personal hin, wurde mit den Personen gesprochen. Sonst wurde der Lärm vom Personal akzeptiert. Dann als wir schlafen wollten um 2230 Uhr war lauter Musiklärm und Persongespäche zu hören. Auch erst wieder auf unsere Intervention hin wurde vorgesprochen. Wir erwachten um 3 Uhr wegen Lärm und dann um 7 Uhr war definitiv wieder Schluss mit schlafen. Dann hallte die Musik wieder. Am Tag gingen wir in die Stadt. Als wir zurück kamen, waren die Personen weg, aber die nächsten zwei Gäste mit Boombox neben unserem Zimmer. Uns wurde vom Personal gesagt, dass halt immernoch Neujahr, eine Woche danach, gefeiert wird. Von uns wurde erwartet, dass wir den Lärm in einem gewissen Mass dulden müssen. Sehr schlechter Wlan Empfang. Preis-/Leistung definitiv schlecht. Positiv ist der schöne Pool, das bequeme Bett sowie das grosse Zimmer. Wir empfehlen das Hotel auf keinen Fall weiter. Wir sind sehr enttäuscht. Bezüglich einer Teilrückerstattung wurden wir auch veräppelt. Bis heute haben wir nichts erhalten und wir wurden schäbig hingehalten. Auch wenn das Hotel jetzt etwas anderes behaupten wird, was ja ebenfalls passen würde, stimmt jedes geschriebene Wort von uns.
