Queen's Hotel Kandy - 160 Years of Heritage & Luxury ★★★★★
"The hotel itself is very centrally located. The building exudes a historic charm that makes it special. The only downside: the bathrooms are in need of renovation. But the best thing is the staff. Everyone is very attentive. We had forgotten our passports in the hotel safe and were quite distressed. We contacted the hotel, and Kuma helped us immediately. He looked at the documents right away and offered to take everything to our next accommodation by taxi. The whole process was very professional. He even made a list of all the forgotten items and stayed in touch with us until we had everything back. We would like to thank Kuma again most sincerely."
Selene City Hotel ★★★
"Room has a lots of ant for me and my friend. By the way, the wifi connection is bad. I need to improve next time"
The Grand Kandyan ★★★★★
"This hotel would have been magnificent when first built. It still is very impressive but starting to show signs of wear. The service is definitely 5 stars and the food and drinks were great. A big shout out to Dhonmasiri (apologies if name is not spelt correctly) in the Sky bar. He was run off his feet but managed to serve our group and others with excellent service and a smile."
Sevana City Hotel ★★★
"Great location, close to the tourist center. Friendly staff, clean room. A decent option for a day or two."
Amaya Hills Kandy ★★★★★
"Good price good service.. food 100% They creat our honeymoon room for free and delicious cake… thankyou soo much"
Earl's Regency Hotel ★★★★★
"This hotel is one of the best in the area, and they even offer breakfast and dinner, which we unfortunately didn't know about beforehand. The breakfast was plentiful, the mountain views were stunning, and it's not far from Kandy. Overall, a very comfortable stay."
Cassendra Hotel Kandy ★★★★
"Warm hospitality: special thanks to Mr Imantha, Mr Isuru and Mr Pathum, good food. Recommended to stay here if you visit Kandy."
Atelier Kandy - Boutique Art Hotel & Gallery ★★★
"We come here regularly for the monthly karaoke nights, which are always a ton of fun - or to spend some time in the tranquil courtyard. An absolutely lovely place. Highly recommended if you're looking for a respite away from the busy-ness of Kandy without traveling far into the hills!"
The Blue Pillars Kandy ★★★
"It was an amazing experience! The staff was really good and accommodating. The conditions of the rooms were pretty amazing! The view was really beautiful. Excellent hotel nestled in peaceful surroundings! Overall it was an enjoyable stay."

The Golden Crown Hotel
"I think it was good. It's such an amazing experience."
Kandy Myst by Cinnamon
"The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the room size is suitable for three guests. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant, with a welcoming ambiance throughout the property. The staff are friendly, professional, and highly attentive. The rooftop pool offers a wonderful setting with a great view, and the food is excellent—particularly the dinner served at the rooftop restaurant. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money considering the quality of service and facilities."
Radisson Hotel Kandy
"Overall, the hotel is quite decent: the staff is always ready to help, and the restaurant and bar offer delicious food (a varied selection at the buffet). The interior is a bit dated, but it's not a dealbreaker (the bedding and towels are clean). For its price, it's an excellent option."
Taru Villas Kandy
"As soon as you enter the door, it feels like you have entered another world. The biggest feature of the hotel is that the dinner is so delicious. The cooking skills and taste are comparable to those of a five-star chef. Anyway, I like it 😘"
Swiss Residence Kandy
"Absolutely one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a wedding venue. We attended a family wedding at Suisse Residence expecting a properly organized and professional event, but the entire function was a complete mess from beginning to end. Lunch was delayed for a long time, guests were left waiting without any proper communication, and the service was shockingly poor. The staff appeared totally untrained and disorganized. We had to repeatedly ask five or six times even for a simple glass of water. Used plates remained on the tables for a long time with nobody bothering to clear them. When guests asked for hand washing arrangements, the response was simply to point towards the washrooms. That clearly showed the level of care and hospitality provided. A wedding is a once in a lifetime occasion for families, and sadly the poor management and terrible service at this venue ruined the experience for many guests. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would never visit Suisse Residence again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quality event venue."
Lake Villas Premium Kandy
"Please note that this is a single room, not a villa. If you need two beds, you need to book two villas. Otherwise, you'll only get one room, and the others won't be available. The host mentioned a consent requirement, but it wasn't included when you booked. The environment is beautiful, the room is clean, and there's a kitchen."
Fox Kandy by Fox Resorts - Luxury in the Mist
"What's good: The hotel is secluded, beautifully maintained grounds, a wonderful view from the top, plenty of aesthetically pleasing photo spots, and a relatively well-appointed room. What's bad: Since the hotel is located at an altitude, unfortunately, we didn't get to experience the joys of the pool (after being caught in the eye of a cyclone on the way, we would have been happy to swim and warm up in the warm water, but the water in the pool was cold; this is a major drawback given that swimming is one of the main activities/entertainments on the property). The hotel restaurant could use some training for its chefs: when you're hungry, as we were, of course, any food seems delicious, but ours, alas, was not. Our selection wasn't particularly sophisticated, but rather poorly prepared: Mushroom cappuccino, garlic prawns, chicken biriyani, two lion beers. The mushroom soup was bland, with no hint of mushrooms, the shrimp were severely overcooked, and I practically cried when I ate the chicken, even though I asked the waiter "no spicy, please." Not only was the chicken so dry it tasted more like snakeskin, but the spices burned my mouth. Perhaps we were just "lucky" with the food, but unfortunately, dinner for less than 11,000 Sri Lankan rupees wasn't impressive. Breakfast, however, was decent (omelet, beans, some meat, grilled vegetables, fruit, pastries, fruit shake, water). The staff was polite, and everyone tried their best, both at the hotel and in the restaurant. Yes, the road to the hotel isn't for the faint of heart: the road is poorly paved in places, and there's a steep switchback uphill. But if you're a seasoned hiker and even a season-long biker like us, the road to the hotel won't be too daunting. Recommendations for the hotel: We were missing a clothes dryer. For those who use the pool or get caught in heavy rain, this is a necessary item. Please provide a replacement."
Golden Sky Hotel & Wellness
"The staff was very friendly und helpful anytime. We had a large breakfast und got a free ride to the train station. The room was clean and the view from the balcony was beautiful! We ordered a Tuktuk in the evening to get in the city centre and it was very cheap und fast. We definitely recommend this place. Thank you!"
Mountbatten Bungalow- Thema Collection
"We were disappointed by the restaurant menu and the size of the portions. The breakfast is limited and like everywhere the coffee is very weak. Otherwise the rooms, the garden and the setting are wonderful"
Hasthi Boutique Hotel
"Stayed two nights when we explored Kandy. This hotel is new, with wonderful rooms and a pool. Managed and owned by a nice family. The breakfasts were superb. One of the mighty were tempted to eat dinner too, we did not regret that. Highly recommended."
Kings Ridge Kandy
"This hotel is ok but everything could do with a good clean everywhere and there seem to be lots of staff around who could do it. That said rooms are comfortable, spacious with good bathroom and AC. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good we didn’t eat in the evening as tended to eat in Kandy town. It’s a bit of a walk into Kandy town (20 mins) or a short tuktuk ride for about 400 rs. A good base to explore Kandy from…."
Blissful Ridge Bungalow Kandy
"The room has been newly renovated and is very nice. We stayed on the second floor and since there were no other bookings at the time, we had the entire floor to ourselves. There's a large living room and a spacious balcony on the second floor. The surroundings of the house are also very pleasant. The owner seems honest and good-natured. Safety during the stay is not a concern. The only drawback might be that the room is in a village on the mountain, not in the bustling city center, but you can use Uber to get around."
Villa Forest View
"It was a delightful stay at the Forest View Villa. The food was delicious, especially the rolled pancakes for breakfast and the view amazing. We highly recommend this place. As the train connection between Kandy and Ella is not yet (end of February 2026) working, due to the devastating cyclon in December 25, you might want to consider asking your host to drive you. It might be less stressful than changing busses 3 times."
Skyloft Kandy by Aaradhya
"This was our second visit to Skyloft Kandy, and this time we had the pleasure of bringing our parents along. Just like our first stay, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The views are absolutely beautiful, and the serene surroundings make the stay even more enjoyable. A great choice for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in Kandy. We look forward to visiting again!"
