I went with my 70+ year old parents and my husband. The ages of the other guests were from young to old. Everyone was comfortable, kind and caring for everyone else. We met two great volunteers- Nelly and Jessie who were great at connecting folks every evening. Our rooms were on the second level, facing the pool. We never heard anything from the parties right down below, even though they stayed up later than us. The walls were thick and the doors kept the sound out. There were two families with young children who also seemed to have no issue with any sounds. What to say about the staff? Faii and Dalí were knowledgeable about everything-set up a snorkel trip and recommended the best restaurants! Oh and the cleaning folks made a delicious breakfast every day. The beach was AMAZING. An easy walk down from the hostel. Shaded by trees and soft sand. The water was warm and shallow. I want to go back! Don't miss it!

We have been staying here three nights now, and have three nights left. I booked it the night before we arrived, and was not sure what to expect since our two first choises was fully booked. How lucky we were! We are very experienced travellers, and have stayed in numerous hotels in Thailand. After a brief discussion, we agrèed that this is the best place so far. The resort is owned by a nice german/thai couple. We booked a bungalow with sea view, and it is perfect. ”Sea view” here is an understatement. The only thing you see when looking straight out from the balcony and bedroom, is the sky and the sea. Love sitting outside in the morning, sipping coffee and listen to the birds and the waves. Everything works perfect in the bungalow. Big bedroom with both a/c and fan. Same with the livingroom. Good and reasonably priced minibar. Fast wifi. Excellent breakfast. Not buffet, but you order from a menu with a huge variety. We ate dinner in the restaurant the other night, and was very satisfied. Plenty of restarants nearby. The austrian next door, and the With Elephant across the road both serve good food. Very nice and quiet pool area. Staff is excellent as well. This is the first place we have stayed where the room has been cleaned while we were eating breakfast. 10 mins walk to White sand beach. We highly reccomend this place!!

The location is seafront not beachfront as seen from photos if you bother to do some simple research. However, the resort provides a man made sand area with furniture overlooking the sea. Alternatively, walk a mere 2 minutes down the main road to access White Sands beach. The property enjoys a 7-11, Macro and beer bar complex nearby. It is only a short walk to White Elephant Sports bar and to restaurants, travel agencies and your typical beach shops down along the main road. The seaside complex provides an infinity pool, a long pool beside the bungalow rooms, beach bar and restaurant where all guests partake breakfast. Both the seaside and hillside complexes have a dedicated reception area. I found staff at both were friendly and probably able to assist you if you have done no research about Koh Chang. On this visit I opted for a hillside room as I was seeking overall value. I had read reviews that seaside rooms can be affected by noise at night emanating from the nearby beer bar complex. My room was situated on the east side of the building (3 floors) and was not affected by any noise at night. I even had a water view from my balcony. My room was spacious and clean. The aircon, fridge and TV worked fine. The wardrobe had hangers with some shelving space. A long bench space with drawers to place your things. A small table and two children was useful. Lighting was very good. The bathroom was also modern looking with segregated shower recess. Good hot water with good pressure. The buffet breakfast was excellent. All the possible food options have you covered including an egg station. Enough seating given the number of guests coming and going. Overall, the resort and my room provided me with what I wanted, a comfortable and quiet stay.

So, where do I start!? I've given them 3/5 as any lower is mean based on the fact they are trying. Sort of. Our (sea view deluxe suite) room was not as described. They have many variants of each room type , but they use a collection of photos from each room to create ”one room”. This means when you arrive your room won't be as you expected it. Our ”suite” was sold with pictures (and description) as being a Thai style house, with separate living area, a sun drenched reading area / lounge, and a double sized outdoor sun lounging terrace. £95 a night (half price apparently, according to ***********). The reality was one large bedroom, one bathroom. No lounge. The far walls were painted breeze block with a TV attached that you cant realistically watch unless standing. No phone. Nothing. Very basic for £95. Sun deck half the size of the photos. My complaints were met with confusion by a teenage reception trainee. I got the distinct feeling I was not the first to complain. The photos sold a wooden panelled Thai house with sun room. We got a very large square largely-empty room. Excitement of a treat turned to disappointment. We eventually got moved to a private pool suite. Nice room (way way nicer then the other) but the pool is on the shaded side, facing the road and a ***** / ****** club. A novelty as you won't use it other than first thing in the morning when it gets the sun ( the pool , not the *******). We subsequently downgraded to a garden view room which was, in fairness, lovely. The beach is superb. Clear water, gets deep fairly fast. Nice swings and hammocks. The bar staff are lovely and could not do enough to help. Always willing to extend happy hour :-) special thanks to Yoyo and his dark haired friend who were a joy to deal with. The food is fine but severely limited. Fried rice 10 ways, or chicken nuggets. It's a crying shame as the beach bar empties before 9pm. There is so much more on offer only yards away down the road. The food offering is cut back and lazy. The top infinity pool is stunning,and often,you are the only ones there. Dec 2022 and they had not filled it completely until a week of being here . One one occasion we went up to find three divers doing their PADI in the pool. Rather cheeky! The bottom pool is unused. Tips: do not let the young trainee take any kind of bookings. I'm going to call her ”smiles a lot”. Smiles A Lot will give you a firm price for extending your stay after being on the phone to her boss, down to the last baht. When you go to move rooms she will deny you had an entire conversation the previous day, smile, blink, smile, and ignore there is any issue. Her colleague said ”she is just a trainee”, we said, ” we now have nowhere to stay.!!”. Useless. After two years of no trade, I get it, they are recovering, but this place is fairly run down. I liked it very much. Price / quality super. Live in two floor block on the second floor. Quiet and quiet. Well-pleasant staff. I'll come back. Before the two beaches 10 minutes walk, lots of cafes and shops around. On the other hand, two expensive hotels, so quiet. And a very beautiful view on the mountains. From the downsides - did not work wifi in the rooms.

Stayed here 4 times now in the last 18 mths and love the hotel, great location, staff are very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice and rooms are very spacious. My only negative comment is the WiFi is not great and would be great if was better and a reliable connection.

11/25/23 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friendly ,professional and accommodating staff Very private and quiet location 3 wonderful nights Arrived at 12:00pm . Rooms were available and the wonderful receptionist checked me in early. The room I reserve was older. I viewed the renovated rooms by the reception building and it was magical. Modern, King bed , large tub for two, high ceiling , balcony, rain shower , water kettle , beach and bath towel etc etc . Take my money please !!!!!!! Paid extra , but so worth it( see pics). Breakfast was simple: eggs, pancakes , thai food , instant coffee, tea bags , hot water , fruits and salad. Resort is next to the beach. Fine sand, calm shallow water , very clean and baby elephants playing in the sea. The staff here is what made this resort shine. Always greeted with a smile Plenty of auto and bike parking. Location: 30 min to the ferry/pier 5 minute walk to the main road 5 “. “ to amazing restaurants , bars, live music , massages, cafes , motorbike rentals , ****s shops , etc etc . Best location for all your needs. Lovely stay. Looking forward to my next visit .

Everything during the stay was taking care of perfectly by the hotel staff. We got different birthday surprises which was a nice touch . The gym could be better as we couldn’t workout properly and went to a gym down the road . It’s also unfortunate that the pool isn’t heated as now nobody is using them. Great stay for families and elderly people

This hotel has been operating for over 10 yrs. It was good back then and still a good vibe here. Its got to be the best budget option on Lonely beach for sure. The room I was allocated was so clean, nice and had a new feel about it. Large bathroom and fridge in the room. Good price Restaurant food is not bad. The Cambodians working there are friendly. But I imagine they dont suffer fools. If you treat them well they will treat you well. If I were management I would probably keep a closer eye on them to make sure they are being polite to all customers. If you plan to walk into town at nighttime you need a torch. Its not far but dangerous in the dark with the bikes and cars zipping past. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Right on the stunning beach. White sand and nice water. Cant wait to go back!

Traveling to Koh Chang on Songkran Day, if the Accor Group uses benefits, it must be considered. Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway booked a Standard room but was upgraded to a Deluxe Seaview room and received Platinum benefits. Quite complete. The room is okay. I like it because I have to pay only 1,402 baht per night. The room is full due to a long holiday. I'm glad I upgraded. I have reserved 3 rooms, there are welcome drinks for all 3 rooms. For dinner, most of the guests leave their stomachs at the Buffet Hotel because it is Songkran Festival. Accor Plus cannot use the discount at all. The price is not expensive, only 530 baht per person, but.. Phra Chuay Thai food is delicious. Anyone staying here recommends trying Thai food. The happy hour here is satisfyingly long from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who eats the buffet will receive a buy 1 free 1 promotion until 10:00 p.m., very worthwhile. The highlight of this place is a lot of photo angles, and taking beautiful photos, but the beach is not okay, which is a weak point. The sea water is hardly played because there are a lot of rocks. I mostly stay at the swimming pool 100% recommend if anyone sleeps here to relax and snorkel on the last day, come back to swim at the pool, take chic photos and eat buffet 🙂 Breakfast is quite suitable for Thai people, focusing on spicy Thai food. It also has my favorite pizza. The hotel has a Starbucks on the beach but does not participate in a star or membership program. For me, April 13-15 is a rest day. I'm pretty happy here. Let's just say for Accor members or group members. If anyone comes to Koh Chang, recommend here. You can get both nights and points. If there is any problem during your stay, I suggest you don't wait, hurry and share with him. He knows the problem and is ready to take care of it immediately. Come to Koh Chang next time, Mercure is still our choice.
