Hotel Copernicus

Krakow|0.5km from WatchThis!
A review based only on a Spa experience. After a previous visit to Hotel Copernicus last year, we decided to return for a Spa day. The hotel is expertly renovated and stunning inside, boasting a modern interior whilst maintaining the charm of the historical building. The lobby is extremely charming. The hotel itself has 29 rooms and is in high demand, and it’s obviously to see why. The location is perfect with the castle just a minutes walk away. The main square is also easily accessible, about 5-8 minutes walk down the Main Street which is bustling with shops, attractions, and museums. Now, about the spa. This is located in the cellar of the hotel and is once again, finished to an extremely high standard. The cellars are accessible via both stairs and an elevator. The spa is not large by any means, and the low vaulted ceilings provide a very cosy and intimate environment. Your first view is a crystal clear-blue pool, which reflects the light across the ceiling and walls creating a mesmerising dance of the light. To the right is a small check-in desk and immediately behind this is a quaint changing area furnished with lockers, a sink area, and shower. The spa is affiliated with L’Occitane and so all the products are branded as such. As expected, these products are top-shelf and smell incredible. In the lockers, bath robes and slippers are provided, and towels are liberally placed around the spa for your convenience. As a male with size 11 feet, I stood no chance squeezing my spade-like feet into the dainty slippers. I asked for a bigger pair and was provided with an identical, one-size-fits-most pair. Needless to say, I was also unable to wear these but I am used to this so bought my own sliders for the occasion. Next, into the relaxation chamber. Two large reclining beds are located here, on the floor. Very comfy and relaxing environment. Many candles (electric imitations) are present and the atmosphere was so calm I lay down and had the most amazing Power Nap. Free water (bottled) is provided. There is also another shower with an assortment of yet more L’Occitane products. A small sauna in the corner was set to 99° Celsius - and certainly felt it. I managed to endure 10 minutes, but would struggle to stay longer due to the heat. The pool itself is relatively small, but the atmosphere is unparalleled. And due to the need to book a treatment to access the spa, was deserted. The pool itself is amazing, and although heated, is at body temperature. The real star of the show was the treatments. My partner and I both booked facial treatments. 60 minutes for approximately £70. Not exactly cheap by Kraków standards, but this was by far the most amazing experience. The smell of lavender and other essential oils was incredible. The masseur was equally brilliant and I left feeling the most relaxed and stress-free I have been in years. If you are looking to pamper yourself - there is simply nothing else available to this level in the c

Aparthotel Globus

Great location, very central and easy to walk to everything. Easy pick up points for taxi’s too. Beds were super comfy, room was clean and tidy. Two size towels given, tea cups, tea and coffee in the room but no kettle?? Bathroom was modern and well done, could do with a new shower head (room 104) as when we changed from full power (as was very strong on the setting) the water sprayed out of the top! Check in process could be reviewed as we didn’t receive any check in emails to show us what to do, so you have to walk around the corner to another hotel which is no problem as I did find this beforehand on a website but further instruction would be great. Overall was a great stay, would stay again.

The Good - Location is great for easy access to the main square of the Old Town. The Bad - These are not apartments and the descriptions are very misleading. Our rooms (no.2) then (no.6) had no kitchen facilities as suggested in the pictures on our booking. Room 2 has a glass chamber in the middle of the room with a curtain round it which acts as a bathroom. The plumbing is not adequate and flooded our bedroom after being in the shower for less than 5 minutes. Sewage also came up through the shower, so out feet were covered in human faeces. There are no staff present on site so any issues need to be called through on a mobile. We requested a move on arrival after seeing the downgraded room that had been given to us but were only moved when we called to get staff in to show the sewage coming up through our bedroom floor. The new apartment (apparently clean) had many dark hairs all over the bathroom tiles suggesting it had not been cleaned yet. Given that you are also charged a cleaning fee of 30PLN per night I am shocked that no cleaning takes place and towels are not changed. The bedding in room 2 consisted of one flat pillow on each side and two small duvets that were smaller than those found on infant beds in the UK. I have never seen this size before! In room 6 the duvets were larger but again only one flat pillow on each side. The main entrance area smells of urine and I would not be surprised if it had recently accommodated rough sleepers. Do not stay here!

Hotel service was good, clean and tidy. The location is excellent, the surrounding attractions are close, and eating is also very convenient. If you need Chinese food, there is not close, but you can eat sushi. Next to it is the park and the old town. Uber is cheaper when going to the airport. It is about 40 Polish rupees during busy and free time.

Checked out after 1 horrendous night due to having absolutely nowhere else to go in a foreign country • Run down • Dirty • Unprofessional • Unsafe • False advertisement It would be safer and cleaner to sleep on the street than to stay here! Checked into room where people were sleeping as we were given wrong set of keys! Dirty carpet, mattress and bathroom the list goes on…. No help or care from staff, response to walking into someone else’s room with room keys for said room was ‘oh maybe they (receptionist who checked us in) were tired’ and endless petty excuses with eye rolling, face pulling and absolutely no care at all from the staff member we spoke to. This hotel literally needs to be shut. After walking in on someone sleeping the anxiety was unbeatable me and my partner were wide awake all night and I was startled by any noise that was made, the locks on the door… what locks?? Your suitcase locks would do a better job. (If I didn’t have to in order to submit review I wouldn’t have clicked 1 star it would have been 0)
Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town

Went for 3 days in Feb with my sister, we had rooms on the first floor. Clean and bright with all the usual facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine, although i did miss not having bacon. apart from that, there is a good selection and the breakfast room was more than ample with lots of seating. there is a small bar on the other-side of reception which was more than adequate. The hotel is minutes from the main square and all the attractions. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return.
