I booked a room with free cancellation through both the official website and a third-party booking platform. However, when I tried to cancel, they still charged the full amount to my bank account without providing a refund. I've noticed many others on Google have experienced the same issue. Please be cautious and avoid booking with this hotel. They have withheld my funds, and I am still unable to recover them. I have filed a dispute with my bank and hope for resolution.

I made a reservation with this hotel thought a third party site for St Patrick's day 2024 based on its location. When I realized that they had taken a significant deposit from my credit card I cancelled the reservation with both the third party site and directly with the hotel. I had until March of 2025 to cancel so was within my rights. It has been very difficult to get my deposit back. The hotel rarely answers the phone and does not respond to emails. I believe that the problem will be resolved with the help of my credit card company but would recommend to avoid this hotel. It is a Wyndham Hotel but I could get no help from Wyndham. I now see that other have had the same issue

Unfortunately I also booked this Hotel with Free Cancellation for June but had to change my plans and am now waiting on a refund since early May! Full payment was taken from my Credit Card at the time of booking and what I don’t understand is how quickly this payment was taken but how awfully slow it is taking to get a refund of MY money!!! The way in which this Hotel processes refunds is definitely a case for the Consumer Affairs Authority and all Third Party booking sites should reconsider featuring this Hotel as an accommodation option in my opinion. I certainly will never stay here in the future nor recommend it to friends or family.

I have cancelled my full-refundable reservation within few hours over a month ago, and still haven't been refunded by this hotel. They don't answer calls or emails, I have tried to contact a manager but no answer. It is a scam, avoid this place. They owe me 1600 dollars and I don't know if I ever receive them. With so many negative complains about not receiving money back I wonder why booking dot com and hotels dot com allowing them to continue to scam people.

We couldn’t have asked for more from this hotel, we were a little sceptical at first reading the reviews but decided to take a chance. My girlfriend and I stayed 5 nights and had everything we needed, at the end of the day we needed a nice clean room to sleep in after a full day exploring the city. The bed was comfy, the room was a lot bigger than we expected and apart from a few minor wear and tear issues the room in general was immaculate. On arrival we payed a 150 dollar security deposit and upon checking out, this was refunded instantly (thank you it was well needed!). The hotel is really well located as it’s a 5 minute walk from Grand Central and about a 10/15 minute walk from 5th Ave which was perfect for us. The staff were all really welcoming and so helpful, they also are happy to keep your bags on the day of check out for 5 dollars, which is a bargain compared to what we heard about other hotels. There’s a coffee machine downstairs which we didn’t make use of (your in New York, make the most of the unbelievable coffee shops??) and a vending machine which was extremely handy to grab water and a snack out of at the end of a long day. All in all you pay for what you get, not luxury but definitely great for a short term stay in the city - would definitely recommend if it’s your first time travelling to New York. Warning! Avoid booking a stay at this hotel unless you're comfortable showering with brown water! My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to the poor water quality. Upon turning on the faucet in the shower, I was greeted with yellow and brown water flowing out into the bathtub. It sounds like you're comparing something. It looks worse in person than it does in pictures. I changed rooms with my two children at 11 pm, but the new room's shower had the same brown water when I checked it, so I returned to my original room. The manager kept insisting that only my rooms had issues and none of the other rooms in the hotel experienced the same problem. Is she kidding me? Most rooms only have a shower booth with dark tiles, making it difficult for most guests to notice the discolored water unless they fill a container with it. Not only was this disgusting and off-putting, but it also raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and safety of the water supply. Despite speaking with the manager the next day, the issue remained unresolved, leaving me incredibly unsatisfied with my stay.

I cancelled my booking over a month ago and I still haven't received my refund. I'm not one to write bad reviews to get some attention but I have called and emailed and no one has replied so I'm obliged to go public. It's been over the 20 working days that they said it should take and since I've been ignored. I feel like I've been robbed!

i had been staying at this property since the early 2000s, when it was a W property, and continued while it was a st.giles. was bummed when it went away and stoked when it came back. but this is a shadow of its former self. the wyndham folks did nothing to improve or update the rooms, but the phones didn't work (so you had to go down to the lobby to communicate anything at all), there were no glassware, flatware or dishes other than those waxy paper coffee cups, there was no coffee or coffee cups in the lobby, with the coffee machine, no amenities in the room of any kind, not even water for purchase, the toiletries were random leftovers from god knows where (we had lotion, shampoo and conditioner, but no body soap). so disappointed, because the location is, for me, absolutely perfect and the rooms are still quite big. what a waste.
