Holiday Inn Express & Suites Yorkville

Hotel was nice, breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable and it was clean. Bummed the pool or hot tub didn’t work. Housekeeping only threw away our trash and gave us two weld which is not a problem BUT left our door open so when we came back it was opened and someone could got in our room. Thankfully there was both of value in there other than our meds and they didn’t offer us a discount because of it.

Disappointed by the pool being closed. Broken tiles in the room. Bed was comfy. Front desk was very friendly and professional. I asked that Fox TV in restaurant due to propaganda and the next day it was changed. The breakfast offered a good selection of options. Several times the floor was filthy with stains and clumps in the hallways and elevator. There was garbage scattered outside in the parking lot and sidewalks. Staff was very friendly and social.

This is one of the worst stays I can remember in recent travel. The service at the front desk was terrible. The pool was closed (part of the reason we chose this hotel) and the front desk was very rude about it when asked - no apology, just that it wouldn’t be open at all. I also asked for earbuds for the workout equipment (as stated on the sign) and was just told they don’t have any - no explanation, no apology. There was expired milk in the fridge (our stay was Jan 19-21) which a member of our group poured on their cereal and it came out chunky. The TV stopped working during our stay. The shower water never got above a lukewarm temperature. When asked if there were sheets for the pull out sofa and an extra towel for our room (we had 2 towels for a room that sleeps 6), I was met with an attitude at the front desk - like she couldn’t be bothered to get off her chair and go get the bedding. Parts of the breakfast were pulled by 9:30 on Sunday even though breakfast does not end until 10:30. When asked if they had more cinnamon rolls, the answer was just no. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

My main complaints: I'm pretty sure the room wasn't properly serviced before my stay, there was still garbage from the previous guests in the bathroom garbage, there was what looked like small dots of blood from someone's face (not stains, looked like the pillow cases hadn't been washed) and the pillow also smelled. Other than that service was great. Just please please please work on cleanliness.

Pool was closed, told probably not ever reopening. No in room guide for TV, check out, etc. Room was spacious, quiet, staff friendly and helpful and breakfast is great.

Dirty walls. Zero insulation. Could hear door close and people walking on upper floor all night long.

I paid through ******* and they didn’t explain when I first checked in that a standard room I had gotten prior directly off the website with no problem, didn’t include a king size bed this time. I said something and they said all king size beds were booked. The toilet didn’t flush I also complained and they charged me $50 additional when I explained that the tank didnt have water after the first time we noticed it didn’t flush. They asked if I had tried looking in the tank, I think as a guest you shouldn’t ask what I tried to troubleshoot with, but that it’s an issue in the first place. I travel for business all the time, and have stayed here prior to this visit with no problem, but purchasing through ******* for some reason made it a huge inconvenience for me and the availability somehow changed. The staff half apologized but the fact I got charged extra was wrong and I will no longer be recommending this hotel to anyone that visits Yorkville. What a shame.

The rooms were fantastic! Check-in was a challenge as we reserved two rooms for our stay, in our family members name. We were NOT allowed to check-in for our daughter (though I paid for the rooms) until she was there. Then she was given a room we didn't request and then told it was our fault we picked that room. When travel delays caused a missed night, no accommodation made for non-use of the room in a hotel that was not full. We would try to go to the check-in counter when certain personnel were not working. Very difficult time for our family, and check-in "processes" did not help the matter.

Hotel rooms were very comfortable and relatively new. Quiet room and roomy bathrooms. Check-in was a challenge for our entire multi-day stay.
