Hotel Lutetia, Paris

Paris|1.82km from Jacques-Antoine Square - Dog area
What else would you do on a wet, blustery, rainy March afternoon in Paris, but pamper yourself with a leisurely high tea at the wonderful Lutetia Hotel? My daughter and I booked a 3pm slot and having deliberately foregone lunch, we arrived hungry & right on time. We were seated immediately by a very efficient & kind hostess beneath the highly decorative glass roof in Le St-Germain and ordered the set afternoon tea menu for 65€ with Blue of London tea for me and a delicious thick hot chocolate for her. Our drinks arrived promptly and we chatted as we waited for the pièce de résistance: 3 savoury and 7 sweet items. After another 35 minutes of waiting, our stomachs finally stopped rumbling. Obviously chef patissier Nicolas Guercio's creativity wowed us, especially the Crab with yuzu sansho, daikon infused with grapefruit on the savoury side, while the Pineapple and green cardamom sorbet vied with the Scones clotted cream and raspberry jam (memories from my childhood!) on the sweet side. What wowed us much less was the fact that we were asked to vacate our table at 4:50pm! Not only had we waited 40 minutes to actually eat our afternoon tea, but now we were being rushed out after an hour and 10 minutes! Nowhere on the website was there mention that you have under 2 hours to consume your afternoon tea. So future afternoon tea amateurs, beware, there's no such thing as a leisurely afternoon tea at the Lutetia!

We recently stayed in this hotel as we were having renovations in our apartment. The first thing we noticed was the natural and warm professionalism of the lady on the front desk. Some people are just perfect for working with the public, and it was the case here. Always a natural smile, and ready to help or answer any queries without any hesitation. There is no lift in the hotel, and the stairs are very narrow, which made it a bit complicated with a large suitcase. The lady on the desk offered to help, but we managed. The room was newly renovated, and it was quite small, but this is par for the course in Paris. It had a window to a charming courtyard which was so incredibly quiet, we were able to sleep with the window open without any problems. The sliding door on the bathroom was quite a surprise but we soon got used to it. It was the first time we had stayed in a hotel where there was already a good, strong fan in the room upon our arrival, which was necessary as it was quite warm. The lady who was working in the breakfast room sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed, especially on our last day, when it was very busy and she was working alone. The gentleman on the front desk as we were leaving was very friendly and professional too. All in all I would like to thank to thank the staff for their warm welcome and help. Keep up the good work ;)

The location is very good, right next to the Denver Rose station on the RER B line, 2 minutes walk, the room is small, the family room for three is fine, the price is a little higher, the service is good, the bathroom is not big, single is enough, opposite the MONOPRIX supermarket there are McDonald's, chinese restaurants, subway lines 4/6, near the monuments of the tombs of paris, it is recommended.

Hello, I’ve spent a week in this hotel, and I would warmly recommend this hotel case of so many things. Firstly the location is amazing the interior of the hotel and rooms is so Frenchy, stuff there is so helpful and extremely kind 24/7 ready to help, (bars, restaurants, shops and the subway station) is like one or two minutes far away, if you like to walk as me you will need like 30 min to cafe de Flore or 10 min to the park Luxembourg which is, in my opinion, spectacular for the eyes and calms a lot. I'm so glad because I am found this hotel and will for sure come back there. Mercy Villa Montparnasse

I chose this hotel because I was going to Denver Roslow Station the next day. Every inch of land in Paris, the hotel is small and exquisite, very close to the subway station. This time I live alone in the single room in the corner. The room is relatively small, but on the whole it is clean and tidy. The air-conditioning is great. I feel safe by myself. The young lady at the front desk and the black uncle are very enthusiastic. There are many cafes and bars next to the hotel, with the atmosphere of Paris. The croissants from Paul's bakery next door are very delicious. A cup of coffee is a croissant for breakfast.

I chose this hotel as it was in a good location for me arriving by train and my husband by plane. It is a 20 minute walk from Montparnasse station or just a few minutes on the Metro then a two minute walk. Arriving from PCdG my husband took the RER then had a five minute walk. As with many hotel rooms in Paris, ours was small. But clean, bright and had AC which was essential in a heat wave. The bathroom was tiny but the shower lovely. Lovely good quality bed linen. The choice at breakfast was limited but we were quite late. We found a lovely restaurant ‘L’empreinte’ just 150m away. There is a great pedestrianised street Rue Daguerre, 5 minutes walk away, much like a traditional market with fresh produce stalls. Cafe Daguerre offers great people watching & good friendly service.

Booked this as bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, I have to significantly down grade as the bed was awful. We booked a family room as travelling with 5 year old and 9 year old. One bed had a lovely mattress the second was a pull out sofa with broken foot end. This was uplifted by sofa cushions. It was squeaky and wobbly, generally felt unsafe. My husband slept on it and I shared the other bed with the children. My husbands feet were lower than the rest of him. This meant poor sleep for all of us. This affected all of our mood during the trip. We raised the bed situation twice and staff showed no concern. They clearly knew already. We also had raising damp patches after a shower. Again raised it and told someone would look at it bit I don't believe they did. Avoid room 107. It was a real shame because otherwise the hotel was good. The room had WiFi, flat screen TV, shower gel and body lotion, hair dryer and coffee machine. No kettle or iron. Spiral stair case and working lift. Red black and white paris theme. Great location. Street Hotel is on has a good range of restaurants, lush, clothing shops, chocolate shops. Metro opposite and just a block up. We were able to visit all over Paris jncluding disney land, palace of versaille, Eiffel tower, notre dame, parc de villette and Charles de gualle airport. Breakfast included: boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages, pancake, chocolate du pain, croissants, corn flakes, coco pops, fresh fruit and fresh juice, yoghurts and coffee. We ate well. It is a shame we have had to down grade the hotel. We can usually make do where ever we end up but this was particularly poor especially of a hotel chain. Hotel needs to remove this as a bed option or replace it. We will not be returning or recommending.
