Hotels in Rome City Centre, Rome

I'm sure that each of us has his own scale of factors to evaluate whether a place is beautiful or ugly but that the added value is the people. In this clean, nice and very comfortable hotel, near the Roma Termini station, it is precisely the people who make a small hotel a point of reference for our trips to Rome. Paola from the reception was, and is, the person who followed us during the booking process and who went out of her way to help us project our photographs on a wall, in a small room set up just for us, a small group of photographers arrived in town for a two day photography course. This hotel is located on the side of Rome termini train station, it is close, but relatively noisy. The hotel was transferred to the Champagne Garden Hotel on the grounds that it was full. It was seven or eight hundred meters from the station. The following are reviews of Champagne Garden Hotel The hotel is an old four-star, small, Roman-style, high ceiling, but the room is small, there are few rooms in the entire hotel. The ground floor and stairs are all marbled, and the rooms are carpeted. See what style everyone likes. European standard, toothbrush and slippers without toothpaste. The bathroom was small and the water temperature was a bit erratic, but it was ok. The city tax is 6 euros per person per night. This is the highest Italian hotel I have ever stayed in. It is higher than the Hilton Milan Hotel (5 euros) and is charged in advance. No standard city tax receipts have been issued to other hotels. Breakfast is very very very simple. It's worse than my two-star hotel in Florence, and the restaurant is underground. Secretly, an Indian wears jeans and sneakers and works as a waiter. It feels particularly bad. Turning out requires a turnkey, as are the older hotels here. I hope Ctrip manages the situation of casually transferring to the hotel. After all, even if the hotel I picked was bad, I thought it was unlucky and was transferred out. It is more likely that the hotel is not good, no matter how good it is.

The location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to go everywhere, and it is only walking distance. There is a little Chinese-speaking girl at the front desk, who is enthusiastic and actively introduces routes.

I slept the best in Italy, and I'd like to book it again next time I go to Rome. The room is not big, but the layout is clean, tidy, warm and comfortable, relaxing. Sound insulation is well handled. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The whole hotel is designed to be fresh and pleasing and looks very new. The front desk service is also very professional.

Deserves to be a five-star hotel, the service is amazing, and the bedding is very comfortable. Excellent location right on top of the Spanish steps. Because I booked six nights, I got a free room with a small balcony. As soon as I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. There were welcome fruits and a welcome card with my name printed on it (still bilingual in Chinese and English). The cleaning service is professional and clean. Free water and chocolate every day and a bottle of red wine. There is a Mixing restaurant on the sixth floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, I did not go to taste this time. Before I left, I went to the restaurant on the first floor of his house. Angus steak was superb and delicious. In short, such a hotel is worth going to Rome again.

I paid more than I usually pay thinking that I would have a luxury experience as advertised, but it was far from it. I was taken to a basement room with a window that was on pavement level and dirty. The room is nicely decorated but basic. I asked for a fan to use instead of aircon and they brought they only fan in the premises which was not working..instead of catering to luxury needs as they say, they should try covering the basic needs first..My room was just underneath the kitchen and I was woken up every morning at 6am from banging cutlery noises and moving around chairs. The wardrobe rail was flimsy and the hooks broke off every time I tried hanging something on them. The shower glass door had a litlle gap when closed and water ran through to the bathroom floor when using. The toilet flush stopped working properly one night with the result of the toilet flushing constantly for the whole night. The housekeeping service was okish but one day they forgot to give me clean towels and the other day they forgot to throw my rubish. The “luxury” spa facilities were out of use. Towels and sheets were not soft, they were like sandpaper..I asked to be moved tp another room or to get a discount but the only room available was another basement room(no thanks) and they said they didn’t do discounts. They did not charge me for city tax however in return, but that was only £15 worth.. I could write more but I think the above is enough to paint the picture. Positives were the excellent location, breakfast was very tasty and staff were friendly. I heard the rooms above ground level overlooking the garden/patio were quieter…

Terrible experience. The desk workers are rude, dosent even say hi. Dont want to order taxi “it’s difficult”. Noise through the whole stay day&night. Terrible breakfast. Tiny rooms cant even open the case. The toilet doesn’t flush well. Dark and cold. It was a second stay after a short and nice experience, i guess that’s there thing. First time you get a decent room so they can take advantage of you next time (they saw its our second visit). To sum up - we never coming back.

We booked 2 double rooms in August 2022 for 5 nights in March 2023 using booking.com. As part of the booking process, we registered a credit card on a ”pay at the hotel” basis. 6 days before we were due to arrive, we received an e-mail telling us we had to confirm the credit card details within 24 hours by following a link in the e-mail, with the threat of cancellation if we didn't do so. In years of travelling, we've never come across this before. We tried repeatedly, ended up using 5 different cards (mix of debit/credit cards and of card-providers) and every time it failed with a message saying there was a problem, and to try later. We contacted the bank to confirm the cards weren't at fault, rang booking.com and got them to contact the hotel - we even offered to pay the full amount up-front rather than risk losing the booking. They checked with the hotel and said the hotel were unable to take a payment over the phone, but that the booking was OK. The following day, we received a further e-mail stating the booking was cancelled as we'd failed to confirm the credit card. We rang booking.com again, who - once again - rang the hotel but couldn't get a response. With 5 days before we were due to fly, we went into a desperate search for somewhere to stay. Booking.com offered us a number of alternatives - none were anywhere near as convenient a location (as other reviews have said, it's superb for the main tourist sites), and at higher prices. We ended up finding an AirBnB apartment. Lo and behold, 3 days from flying, we get an e-mail from booking.com stating the hotel had now got 2 ”Superior” rooms available to offer us at £50 per room per night over our original booking price. We declined. So - our conclusion is that - at best, the hotel's admin/systems are flawed (card confirmation process/system is unreliable and they can't/won't accept payment by phone). Or - at worst..... well, you can draw your own conclusion.

The hotel space is very large, the noise is too much, the staff service attitude is good, the breakfast choice is much more than the four-star hotel, the city tax per person per night is 7 €, quite expensive!

Lots of on site parking. Laundry service recommended across the hotel were amazing and friendly. Room was very small though. Blow dryer didn’t work. Not enough bench space in the bathroom. Overall cleanliness was great. The fridge was nice and cold. Although they don’t have a stocked fridge and you would have to go down to get bottled water. Variety of breakfast choices. Drinks were okay and coffee was from an instant coffee machine which was okay. Staff weren’t around often to ask for fresh coffee. Front concierge were friendly though and very helpful.
