Best Hotels in Sai Yok

Four of us stayed at the River Kwai Resotel resort over the Christmas holiday. Our rooms were bungalow-style with a shared porch. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The shower was very large and the amenities were adequate. They replenished the coffee/tea daily in addition to the waters. Even though other bungalows are very near, they do a great job of landscaping to block the views between them. Breakfast was ample. The restaurant is quite good, especially with its Thai offerings. They have 2 nice swimming pools. The one near reception is a smaller size while the one to the west of the main area is quite large. We enjoyed many swims. There are bikes available for use on grounds. They have some lounge chairs below at their dock. You can arrive by boat or car. The drive in is quite long and through a very rural area. It's quite amazing when you reach the end of the road and see this entire resort unfold. We spent some time and a little money at the neighboring Mon village. Walking up to the caves at the small, national park was also fun. Lots of up & down walking at the resort, too, as it's built into a steep, river valley hillside. Other than the bats at the cave, we didn't see much wildlife. There are a nice assortment of birds attracted to this resort area, however, and the morning serenade is lovely. They do have a small snack hut but the prices reflect that you are quite some distance from any competition. We all enjoyed our stay and do plan to return another time.

To be honest, we arrived with very mixed feelings as we have noted a number of negative reviews. However, we were totally positively surprised as we liked it very much. The Onsen River view villa was very nice with a stunning view on the river and the ”hot tub” for relaxation in the afternoon enjoying the view on the river and jungle. Also the Restaurant was very nice and much to our surprise with very acceptable and normal prices and not as it was stated in some reviews overprized, not at all. And the breakfast was fanstastic too, lots of choices. Overall the setting of this hotel, the natural environment and the hotel as such really made this an unforgettable experience.

In a very remote valley, there are no stores around, which is very inconvenient if you are not driving by yourself. Eating can only be done at the hotel. The ecology is very good. If you put food on the table, it will be covered with ants. Don't go there during the rainy season. The river outside is very turbid, the river is very fast, and the room shakes violently. It is not recommended for those who suffer from seasickness. We took the hotel's chartered boat tour, but there wasn't much to see. Apart from seeing other hotels along the way, there weren't many attractions. It's not recommended to participate.

The place is beautiful, quiet, shady, but the price is a little too strong. And the day we went to the neighborhood there should be a event or concert something very loud, but overall good.

Hotel environment itself is awesome with relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, 4 big-bike guests next door were annoying, making loud noise and drinking until next morning. Because of poor soundproofing, I needed to put my earplugs in all night otherwise I was unable to sleep at all. I wish I could just chill and take some fresh air on nice little balcony but they keep playing dance music and smoking in early morning. I ended up with checking out as soon as finishing my breakfast. My recommendation is to avoid wooden standard raft, go for deluxe one. It seems much nicer. stayed on 27 June 2020

Boutique Raft Resort is better than the pictures. It really is a beautifully presented property right in sync with nature. I stayed in a River Kwai Suite which was spacious and nicely decorated with huge windows facing the water. I agree the bathrooms could do with a freshen up, as other reviews have suggested. The fridge was well stocked and priced, however there was no tea or coffee making facilities which was disappointing and I was charged 100 baht for a L coffee. That said the staff were exceptional, each and every one of them, even with their very limited English. The General manager who owns and runs the resort was super helpful, spoke excellent English and was very hands on. The food was well priced, presented and tasty, although a little basic. I was led to believe it would be easier to book my tours from the hotel on arrival. Unfortunately this really was an expensive option as a solo traveller, as everything was a ‘private’ tour with the resort van. The bike tour was also unavailable. The other thing to be aware of is there are dogs outside the property and they were not friendly. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day :/ I decided to go for a walk and they surrounded me barking aggressively. I love dogs but this meant a quick exit. Unfortunately I felt confined to the property from then on, which wasn’t necessary a bad thing but I would have liked to go exploring. I highly recommend this property you won’t be disappointed and I would love to come back.

Friends who go to the hotel must pay attention to a few points. If you take a boat to the hotel after 6 pm, you need to pay an additional 1,000 baht for the boat fee. It is best to arrive at the hotel before 18:00. The hotel has no hot water, no electricity, no air conditioning, and no Internet. , friends who like the original ecology will definitely like it!

The resort has many types of rooms. If you don't call to ask, it is not cheap to reserve. Inside is very wide. Tired walking Next to the river, cool breeze. The accommodation is in Sai Yok District, convenient to travel, set google map to the quiet atmosphere, if going to go to sleep on the raft, not recommended for the elderly and those who are not comfortable walking because they have to walk down many stairs and the stairs are quite high and steep The condition before boarding the raft was difficult. For the size of the room, the view is considered good because it is the best type of waterfront raft here. The room is beautiful, spacious, has a lot of space and has a seat to sit in. Besides the bed here, I appreciate that it's very good. But sleeping on a raft must have some structure. It is normal when the boat passes there. There is no problem in the form of rainy season. If it rains, the sound will be very loud, making it feel that it is a little difficult to sleep, so it is not recommended. Let's go to the rainy season The TV signal is not good and is not stable, it is recommended that you need to change the cable, I feel that it is loose and a little damaged. As for breakfast, you have to walk to eat at the restaurant, which will have a set to choose from. Fried eggs and bread are already available. Good taste, very tasty basil. The overall place, as it is a large hotel, is quite likely to have rooms with a lot of houses to choose from. Let's go and see which one you like.
