"Check-in Delays: Upon arrival, we were met with a very slow check-in process that resulted in a 30-minute wait, which was an exhausting start to our vacation. Failed Special Request: We had specifically coordinated with a staff member named Jaaziel to arrange a birthday cake for my daughter. Despite providing all necessary details including flavor and timing and two days later, we discovered that the order had never been placed with the bakery. No Follow-up: At 4:00 PM, we were told the staff would "see what they could do." We waited an hour for an update, only to be told they would call us back by 8:00 PM. That follow-up call never happened, nor did we receive any apology or acknowledgment for the breakdown in communication."

"We are a family of four (my husband and I and two adult children ages 22 and 19). We all loved our stay at the resort. The rooms were spacious and nicely equipped with the comforts of home. We found the staff to be nice and accommodating Admittedly we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but we were comfortable while we were there. The gym was nice; had a peloton bike (which I loved). The cats and chickens weren't a problem for us - somewhat entertaining. On our last night we did the night kayak tour from the Westin which was memorable. The only negative review is related to food. First, there aren't any food options available after 10pm which posed a problem for us on the last night after the kayak tour. We attempted to eat dinner at 7 at the Westin but was told there was a 1 hour wait which would have put us too close to the starting time for the tour. We ended up eating sushi apps but would have preferred a more substantial meal since we were starving after the kayak tour. Next, we had breakfast and my kids had dinner at the on-site restaurant. I did not enjoy my seafood omelet as it was filled with imitation crab meat and not much else. Also, my daughter did not enjoy her yogurt/fruit plate. That said, our kids ate there the night before for dinner and really enjoyed their selections. So maybe it's hit or miss. Overall, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go again."

Hotel 1829 Hotels in Saint Thomas

Hotel 1829

"We booked a hotel for a few nights after our 1300 mile sailboat crossing for a respite. I could meander up and down staircases and through little gardens, and courtyards for hours exploring the heritage of this Kings Quarter gem. Accommodations are unique and pristine. The staff and the owners are fantastic. What a hotel! The Hotel 1829 reopened in January under new ownership after being shuttered since 2017 and Hurricanes Irma and Maria. It’s rich in history and new owners Mark and Jessica retained all kinds of artifacts and character. Of particular note is a Tiffany Stained Glass window from 1903. Can you imagine such a delicate thing as glass surviving hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis? Boggles the mind. Mark reached out to Tiffany to verify its authenticity, apparently it had been considered missing until his recent inquiry. Walls of exposed rubble sealed with varnish to keep the crumbling at bay add a sheen that calls attention to the texture and patina. Two-hundred year old, hand-painted tiles grace the floors throughout and a roof made of brick was left exposed to help appreciate the feats of engineering. Oh, and stairs- everywhere stairs, Curved and steep and glorious. No wonder it is on the Historic Hotel Registry. What a find."

Bunker Hill Hotel ★★★
"Hotel is very clean and has charm. Beds were comfy. Someone is trying with the curtains and bed assemble but needs some maintenance done to rooms..ceilings, lights, baseboards, showers. . Hairdryer didn't work, light in bathroom flickered, no shampoo etc just little bars of soap. Coffee maker but bring your own coffee. There was a small refrig/freezer in room. Breakfast was good. I think I would rebook but bring the amenities it lacked."

Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman's Reef, Autograph Collection ★★★★
"This booking is a total rip-off from the beginning to end. 1.Make sure you have free cancelation because you will surely use it. 2. Just know that there are extensive hidden fees including paying for paddle boarding, scuba diving, etc whether you use them or not all guest are required to pay at the end amongst other things. 3.Customer Service was horrific from beginning to end starting with long check in wait times without any acknowledgement also don't expect them to initially fill you in on the astronomical fees that they tack on in the end. Also, upon finding out they placed me on a ground level floor facing all the foot traffic opposite of any ocean or scenic views, I was promised a room change the following day which never happened for the duration of my stay. 4. Room service surprisingly came to my room at 8pm inquiring about service which was bizarre. 5.Food is insanely expensive including room servic delivery. I paid almost $50 for a small sized pizza at the low end restaurant.Free Breakfast which was listed upon booking as well as on my receipt was anything but free so be where. They told me upon checkout it is only $80 but there is nowhere stating that information. One hostess at Salt shack told me it would would be a 20minute wait for breakfast or I can try a buffet upstairs but after walking in the hotsun upstairs there was no buffet or restaurant and so the 20 minute wait continued. 6.Overall hiddeen fees were were astronomical. This is a 2star rating at best.i hate that I chose this place for my stay it was a total rip off!"

Marriott's Frenchman's Cove ★★★★
"My family of five (husband and three children, ages 16, 12, and 6) visited St. Thomas from August 2–10, 2025, and stayed at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove in a two-bedroom villa in the Virgin Gorda building. The villa was spacious, clean, updated, and had more than enough room for all of us. We often cooked breakfast and lunch right in the villa — the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal. The pool area was another highlight — clean, inviting, and complete with a waterslide my kids enjoyed daily. There’s plenty of seating around the pool, and we never had trouble finding chairs. The beach is beautiful, with lots of chairs and umbrellas available. The sand is soft and clean, but a quick tip: enter the water on the far left side, as the right side can be a bit rocky. There’s one on-site restaurant with a casual menu of burgers, quesadillas, salads, wings, etc. We ate there three times for a late lunch/snack before dinner. The food was decent and convenient. The resort itself is hilly, so depending on where your villa is located, you may need to take two or three elevators to get there. It seemed tricky at first, but we got the hang of it quickly. For me, the only downsides were the limited dining options — I wish there were at least one or two more sit-down restaurants for dinner — and the long check-in process. Marriott emailed me multiple times before our arrival asking when we’d get there, and I consistently answered 2:00 p.m. While I understand check-in isn’t until 4:00 p.m., I had hoped the room might be ready since they asked. It wasn’t ready at 2:00, which was fine, but when we came back at 4:00, it still wasn’t ready. After waiting hot and tired from travel, we finally got into our room around 4:35 p.m. All in all, our stay was wonderful, and I would absolutely return to Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove. The location, villa comfort, and beautiful pool/beach area made it a memorable family vacation."

The Green Iguana Hotel
"We really enjoyed our recent stay at The Green Iguana Hotel! Located right next to Blackbeard’s Castle in the historic part of Charlotte Amalie, it was a short walk down to the shops and restaurants along the waterfront. It is a climb back up to the hotel, but the views are beautiful and there are plenty of places to rest along the way. The room was clean, charming, and had great air conditioning. The hosts, Chase & Lyndsey, are incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us several great recommendations for what to do and where to eat. They also arranged taxis to pick us up from the airport and to take us to the ferry terminal. I would definitely stay here again!"
