Well this was certainly something to remember. Stayed here back in May 2018 for a conference. The hotel is a cold was relic, which I would certainly not book had I had the choice. The lobby is huge and empty, and the rooms spread over numerous floors, sparcely decorated, giving you a cold and dreary feeling. The views over the dark city and sweeping, but the location is not central and did not offer anything to orient yourself. There is a quite good restaurant with local cuisine nearby. Sofia itself is worth a visit, the centre is quite interesting and the immense cathedral extraordinaty - worth a visit for its own shake.

3 night in aparthotel for leisure. Room very nice, housekeepinh every day take off gabgage and refill everything for bathroom, maybe it wpuld be nice to clean windows propperly and below bed, but for this price is very good. Little bit outside city centre, but around is also enough to see/view. Taxi from aparthotel to city center approx 4-5-6€. Ms. Irina (I hope I wrote her name good, is great!

Upon arrival at the reception we had problems with the prepayment; It was not possible to pay the price without the prepayment already provided, after about 30 minutes it was possible in cash, not the preferred card payment; the employee justified this with a new computer system. The room was not air conditioned upon arrival and was quite warm; the shower does not drain normally and quickly fills up to the brim; The beds are a kind of box spring bed: for me (about 85 kg) the mattress was not comfortable. There was only few toilet paper upon arrival, so I called the reception after it was finished, but after about an hour nothing was delivered - not to be expected for a 4 star hotel! The bathroom fan is a bit noisier than I expected and should usually auto stop after a while (although it was connected to the lamp, it usually happens). The thick curtains easily detach from the suspension when closing, and the small room fridge is much too loud (noticeable at night). When exactly is breakfast should be in the folder (I didn't see it at first glance) I liked the breakfast, the orange juice could be freshly squeezed, there should be milk (and lactose free) next to the muesli, and there should also be gluten free bread, but overall good quality of the products; we didn't try the restaurant for dinner due to the high prices. fitness room: Directly the first machine on the left (for legs) doesn't work and it hasn't changed during the week's stay, although we complained, the note with this information had fallen under the bench, so not visible; but otherwise the hall is in good condition The pool is small and during the stay they closed it, it was soon announced that the pool heating would be repaired: heating at 35 degrees outside air temperature? Incomprehensible! I tried to speak to the manager but he didn't seem interested. After we asked for a discount because the pool wasn't working, at least they took away the note the next day. All in all, this hotel did not overwhelm us and we will not visit it again: high standards and beautiful pictures, but unfortunately no coverage in reality.

Missed the connection and had to book a hotel near the airport. This Ibis is fine for the night on a stopover but not much to do around. Still ended up going to town to eat and have a look around so would have been just as easy, and a bit cheaper, if I would have picked a city hotel. The room was two single beds and nothing much else included, reasonably clean but still expensive bearing in mind it is Bulgaria. Fine for late arrival and short stay if booked early.

We were here as part of a group tour in September 2022. Check in was swift from the hotel staff and we were given a room on the second floor. As we were part of a Travel Talk Tour, some of the rooms were twins and some were triples. I was in a triple room for the one night we spent here - for three lads with suitcases, the room was a bit on the small side, but we made it work. The beds were comfortable enough, the bedding and the room were clean and the fixtures were in good condition. As well as the three beds, there was a desk, TV, wardrobe with safe and hanging space. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, large sink and vanity unit and toilet. The towels were clean and there were no issues with water pressure or temperature. The hotel wifi was good - good range and speed. We headed into one of the conference rooms for a briefing before our tour and it was a good size. There was a wedding party next door in one of the other conference rooms. Breakfast was good, with a good selection of food and drink. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. Location-wise, you've got a big supermarket next door, so if you need anything, including anything from a pharmacy like we did, then you're in luck. Overall a good short stay here - recommended.

I'll start with the positive points first: - I'll start with the positive points first - The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms: - The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build - The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable. - The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip. I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never been replaced.

The hotel is only more than 1,000 meters away from the airport, but the road is a bit winding, it is better to take the hotel’s airport shuttle. There is a timetable for the hotel shuttle bus, but there is no one to take the bus; the hotel is easy to handle at the airport, make an appointment with the front desk, it is no problem to leave on time; from the airport to the hotel, if you don't call in advance, you may not be able to wait for the bus! The breakfast was good. The hotel has a parking lot, which is very convenient for self-driving.

I missed my flight at sofia airport so had to book a hotel for one night. So I went for a mid range hotel. It was better than mid range. Lovely helpful staff on reception, an aceptable price with thier discount....paid 68 euros for a large kingsize bed with onsuite bathroom. Comfortable bed, fresh pillows (very snazzy cushions too) and a nice relaxing corner sofa, reasonable TV and every thing was realyl clean. Complimentary coffee and tea, which is not the norm in Bulgaria, nice and quiet, was lovely and warm. Actualyl a bit too warm and I couldnt turn the heating down so I had to sleep wit hte fridge open to cool off as aircon didnt work. THis was the only negative for me. They did an airport pickup, but not a drop off and this nearly stopped me booking, as they should have told me this at the begining, however they were saved by the fact the metro was 4 stops to the airport and cost me 1.60 leva, so about 70p. I picked up food from the little shops in the metro, as I hit a holiday so the restaurants close by were closed. A very lovely stay and Id go there again. AND they had these lovely drop lights near the bed as side lights, some veyr nice touches, clean crisp sheets, soft towels and nice soaps etc and they dont ask you to leave till 12 lunch time. We stayed here for a couple nights whilst exploring Sofia. This a perfect and cute little hotel, purely somewhere to sleep for the night. If you want fancy, stay in the centre. But what do you need on a city break? You’re exploring the whole time! It’s simple and effective and budget friendly, it was half the price of the flights and less than our airport parking! (Paid £50 for two nights). Sofia is very cheap to eat and drink so you just can’t go wrong. The staff were friendly on arrival and check out, and they let us keep our bags after check out when we had a late flight. Not too far from the centre, we walked the first day but after realising it’s £2 for all day on the metro, we stuck to the metro. 30 minutes walking, or maybe 6 minutes by metro. The airport is about half an hour away on the metro and no issues getting there or back. Smooth transport system! There’s a supermarket 3 minutes away which is handy for water and snacks. If walking at night, I will say stick to the main road side, as the other side of the hotel feels a little unsafe and dark. The rooms are small but practical, bathroom is a little smaller than I expected but it still worked. My only issue is I would say the room could of been cleaner when we checked in. I had to clean the toilet and sink with sanitiser as it was a little dirty. Take flip flops for showering as you are very close to the toilet when you shower and very close to the shower when you use the toilet. Shower gel provided smelt lovely and the hand sanitiser at reception! We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend the hotel and stay again should we ever take another trip to Sofia.
