Lovely area, lovely “oldy worldy” cosy traditional pub and Inn. Four of us went last night for a meal and it was outstanding, food was quite literally a-ma-zing!!! We have actually been before and was fabulous then too. And last but not least the staff are really friendly and accommodating. Would 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have just enjoyed our third stay at The Postgate, and were very reluctant to leave. The food, as ever, was outstanding, not the cheapest, but we are happy to pay for quality and this us definitely what you get. The fish especially is amazing, and as for the 3 taster desserts - wow!! I shall be dreaming of these for weeks! Added to this, Mark, Paige and the staff can't do enough for you, and Tony's breakfast is simply the best we've had anywhere. Slept like a log too, in the most comfy bed. I could go on and on about how great this place is, and needless to say, I can't wait for our next visit!

The service is excellent, all the staff very helpful explaing any questions regarding the menu. The fish choices are superb as are all the other dishes. Nothing too much trouble to change item from the menu to your choice. The 3 mini dessert is a treat with wonderful ice cream. Called the following day to try the mini dessert again!

Great service and great food on our way back from a day out in Whitby with helpful chef sorting out vegan and vegetarian options my burger was very good as were the soup and vegan stroganoff. The inn is very welcoming both inside and out and is obviously well cared for and we will hopefully be back.

What a fabulous place to eat in the North Yorkshire Moors. We ate here on 3 consecutive nights. We both had a different meal each night and the quality is excellent. Mark, you’re a genius, thank you for 3 great nights of food. Beer is good as well and it was nice to speak to a few of the locals in there. You must try this place!

Walking the CtoC i rang and booked an evening meal, on arrival i found the pub had a great atmosphere, locals & bar staff where warm and welcoming, the owner even remembered my name from my early call, Food was the best i had on route, staff could not do enough for you.

A genuinely warm welcome from every single member of staff. Comfortable room and plenty of tea/coffee/milk (more than you would expect). The bar is cheerful and the regulars full of fun and chatty. Dart board with both traditional and Yorkshire darts. Beyond that the food is a definite step up from your usual pub with rooms. Couldn't fault the breakfasts and the evening meal portions are very generous. Loved the fillet steak tournedos with black pudding, scallops and a Port wine reduction. Then the chocolate fondant with ice cream was a good finish. Can also recommend the breaded whitebait - if you can manage a big starter.

A friendly welcome, our table was ready on time and a good atmosphere. There was a good choice of menu, some additional specials, and the food quality, quantity and presentation were excellent. A good choice of beer and wine to go with the food, and the service was excellent. Prices weren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for!! We would certainly go again.
