We arrived quite late and booked the most expensive room type, which looked nothing like the photos. The funny thing was that the shower gel in the bathroom was empty, and the tissue box was also empty.

Decent location for one night stopover. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room pretty basic but all okay for what we paid. Downfall was the noise early morning, being woken to trucks beeping and reversing at 7am on a Sunday isn't my idea of a good night's sleep (which is all we really needed, this was the followed by trolleys clanking and banging, so think this is a real downfall to what should have been a nice little stopover. I advised the receptionist and she said it was the deliveries....which I understand are needed ....but not 7am on Sunday surely and if so some more thought for those sleeping. Sadly this affected my overall rating as really you pay to have a good sleep but I didn't get that.

Room services communication needs to be addressed. It was difficult to communicate with Reception as the phone kept ringing. Tv and fridge not working in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, this was not communicated .Staff very friendly, and facility looked perfectly clean.I can go back for another romantic vacation with my wife if I get the chance.

Where to begin with this one? Firstly i requested to cancel as i was coming down with COVID like symptoms. Ramada Telford seem to not mind that though, so that request was denied (no offer of another stay, or partial refund, nothing). Felt better day of, and decided to travel. On check-in (nor on the website, photo attached) i wasn't told anything about the pool being out of service. Turns out it was. No offer of a full or partial refund. Nothing. Luckily, Trip have stepped in with a good will gesture. Spoke to some people (named below) by email afterwards and basically told ”nothing they can do” and ”it's trip's fault” that the website didn't reflect that their pool had been out of action since DECEMBER. Awful customer service, facilities not available. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Specifically bad service via email: Lis Frost & Richard Bowen

Stayed here for a 50th birthday celebration locally and so glad we did, the room was wonderfully located with beautiful views over Dale-End park and the river Severn. It was booked room only due to commitments so couldn’t comment on the food but the staff were very friendly and helpful and would highly recommend this hotel.

We asked for a quiet room and were given one at the front on the main road which was anything but quiet, the room did not live up to the pictures and needed some work, but it was reasonably priced and servicable. We didn't eat here but our drinks on the first night was almost £12 for a large gin and a pint, that was with a 10% discount as we were staying there. The cons were not enough to warrant a complaint but we wouldn't book here again

We booked for the Shrewsbury School speech day and leavers ball so the whole town was fully booked. Thankfully there was a suite available at my favourite local hotel. We needed a room for 3 and the hotel staff were super helpful in accommodating our needs. It’s family owned and the culture of care is pervasive. It’s a hotel where the staff like to say yes. Not to mention the character of the hotel itself. It’s a mixture of 12th, 15th and 17th century architecture forming an elaborate maze of rooms covering the block. The Matthews family have truly created a 5 star hotel experience. I was even offered a glass of sherry by the night watchman when I checked in on once at 1am. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

CCharlee78Booked a room and evening meal. Check in was straightforward and receptionist was professional. Gave advice on breakfast time and where room was located. Room was spacious and thankfully not too hot. Thw bathroom had an extractor fand that kept.going about 15 mins after the light had been turned off! Bed was really comfy, not too soft and duvet was warm. Plenty of pillows :) There was 2 free bottles of water and a coffee machine with pods, I did not use this but water in a fridge was appreciated. Towels were clean and bathroom radiator was hot so towels were nice and warm. Free toiletries in the bathroom but I had taken my own so didn't use them. The lights in the hallways have motion sensors so the hallway are a bit dark when you first walk into them. The evening meal was with my work group and results varied. Most people enjoyed but personally I didn't. The soup I got was half cold and the other side of the bowl was warm. The mushroom stroganoff was lacking taste and the apple and cinnamon crumble was most cinnamon. I have eaten here before and enjoyed but was not impressed this time. It was quite busy and the staff seemed overworked as no one came to ask if we were OK or if we needed drinks and I did have to wave people over a few times. The reception area is also the bar. Its obviously a popular pub as it was crowded but maybe they should have more staff on, the same people seemed to be dealing with check in, diners and bar drinks. Just seemed a bit disorganised. The drinks here were nice and decently priced. They also do large 250ml wine, unlike a lot of places nowadays. Breakfast the next morning was great, good coffee and hot food. Check out was simple, just hand your key card back. I would stay here again but might not have the evening meal!

PPeter ClemensA Wonderful Stay at the Lowfield Inn – A Hidden Gem on the English-Welsh Border We had a fantastic stay at the Lowfield Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our family room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with plenty of room to relax, including a sofa. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep in a quiet and peaceful setting. The inn features a lovely common area and a roof terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The scenery is stunning and perfect for enjoying long walks along the border between England and Wales. The pub itself is a true highlight—offering a great selection of traditional cask ales and a very welcoming beer garden where you can enjoy the evening sun. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are genuinely helpful and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as pencils and paper provided for children. As for the food: it was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a wonderful mix of traditional English pub fare and Indian dishes, all prepared with creativity and care. The starters were delicious, the mains were generous and satisfying, and the desserts were absolutely indulgent. The children’s menu was also well thought out and very appealing. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a wide selection and very generous portions—no one left hungry! There’s also plenty of parking space, which made everything even easier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we’re in the area.

GGuest UserThe Feathers is well located in the centre of Ludlow and is an old building that is full of charm. However, this also means that it is a bit of a rabbit warren inside, making it challenging to find your way around the long, branching corridors - a definite nightmare in event of a fire. The carpark was full when we arrived, despite it being much larger than I expected, but there was a council carpark behind the hotel and only a short walk away, which was free from 6pm to 8am, which is very convenient. Our bed was large, clean and comfortable and the room was well resourced: tea and coffee making facilities with a wide range of teas and milks; complimentary canned water in the mini fridge; iron and ironing board; plenty of sockets including USB, at the bedside and a variety of products in the bathroom, though no toothpaste which was the one thing we'd forgotten to pack! One of the spoons was dirty, hence only 4 stars for cleanliness. The guest wifi was strong and easy to access. We didn't have time to use the reception areas downstairs, but they looked beautifully presented and were full of character, offering a very attractive space to have a drink or meal. Staff at reception were pleasant and professional.

AAlexx1234Overall wasnt a great stay, ill keep it short and sweet and list positives and negatives rather than go into detail Positives - All staff friendly and helpful, nice location, if you can book a deluxe room so you get a first floor room with outside table and chairs and a view of the golf course. Treatment and spa faciltes were good though theres no jaqoozi. Comfy bed! Negatives - Organisation, i had spa day and lunch, it wasnt explained about where lunch was or what was included i had to ask all the questions. I wasnt told the £15 limit for lunch so i went over and they then expected me to pay the difference but they agreed it was unfair. Room cleanliness, bathroom wasnt great, nail clippings on floor and 100’s of small hairs all around the bath after someones shave! Room was very warm and it wasnt even that hot outside, take a fan in hot weather! Food prices very high for what you get, nothing special! Took 30 mins to get my drink at dinner and 65 mins to get my burger and chips, apparantly staff were off sick and there was a new bar man who delayed drinks I wouldnt go back for the price you have to pay and what you get

HHameed966From the very start, Rebecca was an absolute star. Her proactive communication and all the useful information she shared made us feel confident we were in for a lovely stay and we truly were. She greeted us on a rainy day with a big smile that instantly made us feel at home. The house is beautifully set among rare farmlands, offering peace and scenic charm. Our room, which had a private balcony, gave us stunning countryside views. Having binoculars provided in the room was such a thoughtful touch we loved watching the birds while relaxing outside. The place itself is full of delightful details board games both in the room and the lobby, Sky and Netflix for cozy evenings, and a nice selection of snacks and small bites available.Breakfast was served with a view, and it was excellent fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. My wife and I truly enjoyed every part of our stay, and we will definitely be coming back.
