"We didnt realise we could have requested a groud floor bedroom. It was tough as an 80 year old lugging three cases and various other items up the stairs. I looked for a lift but couldnt find one. Otherwise apart from the inside of the bathroom door which needs some attention it was ok."

"I visited the hotel directly the day before to confirm the reservation, but the hotel said the reservation was not accepted. I think there was some mistake on Trip.com. It is hard to trust. I finally got in touch with the staff in Korea and they resolved it well. Thank you to that staff. My family was very satisfied with the hotel. The staff was friendly and the facilities were good. It was old, but not disappointing. I used the sauna in the hotel, and it was really nice for the first time in a long time."

"Great location, close to the bus stop and the sea. There was a bathroom in the room and bath towels were provided, so it was comfortable. I was happy that I could use the washing machine for free. The woman at the reception was also nice and had a nice atmosphere. New Plymouth is a wonderful city!"

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient. Facilities are good. I did however have a cluster of ants in my room. They were swiftly dealt with by staff within about 5 minutes after reporting. I was grateful for being able to leave luggage prior to check in but a bit disappointed i had to pay 2 nzd to store luggage in a locked on departure for about 90 to 120 minutes. I can understand charges for longer periods of left luggage on check out, but under 2 hours seemed a bit unfortunate. However i would still recommend the YHA for others, although if you want a more ”party” type hostel, this isn't it."

"This hotel would have got 5 star from me for every aspect if not for its mess over my bill. The hotel, in all fairness, is really good. It’s clean, reasonably spacious, and it’s tastefully decorated. More importantly, it has everything! All kitchen ware, washing machine, dryer, etc etc all in the room itself. Perfect for us who are on a long travel itinerary. Highly recommended. However, after I checked out, they charged me for the nights that I’ve already prepaid. When I got in touch by email, no response. By phone, the receptionist said she couldn’t do anything. Only the manager could handle it and he/she only comes on Sundays. On Sunday, I couldn’t get through the phone. So I’m getting help from a Trip.com agent. So far, this matter is still hanging. Hopefully it can be resolved soon and the overcharge can be refunded. "

"The hotel restaurant is great, lovely food all day. Deserts in the afternoon on the terrace with soaking up the sun in their comfy Beach chairs was a highlight. The hotel deco is funky and refreshingly arty! The pool could do with an upgrade, some greenery, and extended art be nice. All in all a great hotel roth lovely friendly service."

There's a restaurant and bar downstairs, with a nice atmosphere."

We booked a 2 room cabin, the place was quiet that was nice but the place wasn't clean a dirty oven try left in the oven! Plates with crumbs on them! The bathroom fan didn't work so the cabin was super super damp, no soaps or shampoo dispensers were all empty! The bathroom and toilet door didn't close properly or quietly. The main bedroom must have a leak somewhere it rained on the last day and the carpet in the morning was super wet along the window. Couches were uncomfortable feels like it pushes you head forward and the TV had no Internet connection to watch Netflix like advertised. The place is very run down and needs a really really good clean! The accommodation was close to town and quiet. I wouldn't recommend this place spend an extra $100 and stay somewhere else

Clean and good location. Just by the beach. Strong sense of service. Before we checked in, the boss had turned on the heating and was very intimate. There is parking space. The bathroom equipment is a bit old, but it does not affect the living.

The hotel is located in the small town of New Zealand, Nelson (not too small in New Zealand, with a population of 70,000). Although it is a motel but the environment is very good, the room facilities are well equipped, can cook, have a jacuzzi, very good

Beautiful large one bedroom unit, very clean, has two TV s(one in bedroom). Large bathroom with a spa bath, good shower. Kitchenette has everything you need for simple cooking. Bed is comfortable, electrical blanket is a plus. City view from balcony and mountain views from front verandah are very pleasing. Lovely friendly host lady makes our stay even more enjoyable. Location is central as well, easy drive/walk in and out. Loved it. Highly recommended.

Good value for money compared with other hotels we have stayed at in Nelson. Decor and comfort was good. A bit of noise from the music in the outside bar area in the early to mid evening, the speaker was right under our window, which might be a problem to some, not to us. Food was good , but a little on the expensive side for us, personally, Lovely location right on the water, lovely looking building.

Nice welcome friendly and helpful when enquiring about things, not happy with wifi constantly fading and their answer was “ tried to get it fixed but ? “ on website they offer airport drop offs but don’t due to complaints from the local cabbies so why still advertise this !!! And finally when dropping off key on checkout didn’t ask how our stay was or anything so not happy with the service.
