Arxan Travel Guide

Day four, we finally reached our destination, Arxan. We stayed for two nights. The Camel Hump Ridge Tianchi was formed around the Middle Pleistocene (about 300,000 years ago). The Arxan National Forest Park Tianchi Scenic Area was formed when volcanic ejecta fell around the vent, creating a circular wall, with a round depression in the middle, which over the years has filled with water. It is the third largest in the country. Shitang Forest, located to the east of Arxan Tianchi and 84 kilometers from Arxan City, is one of the wonders of the Greater Khingan Range, one of the world's largest and most intact volcanic lava landscapes, and a United Nations Grade A protected area. 📝Tips: Be sure to stay in the scenic area for one or two nights, it's not expensive and very comfortable, one night is enough. You cannot drive yourself within the scenic area; you must take the scenic area's vehicle. The waiting area is dusty and unpleasant. The attractions are quite scattered. The good ones are Camel Hump Ridge Tianchi and Shitang Forest. The rest are average. The Wulie River outside the scenic area is very beautiful. The best spot is at the Arxan Tianchi Linwan Resort. Even at minus 40 degrees, it does not freeze due to geothermal heat.
