Why has Yuyuantan become the number one spot for cherry blossom viewing in Beijing?

Yuyuantan's long history dates back to the Jin Dynasty. Since Yuyuantan was only two li away from the Hui Cheng Gate to the northwest of the capital of the Jin Dynasty, it was a place where the emperor would visit for pleasure. Nobles, relatives of the royal family, and literati often liked to visit this place, making Yuyuantan a famous scenic spot for sightseeing in the capital. Yuyuantan Park is divided into different scenic areas, with various cherry blossom viewing spots set up in different areas, such as Yushu Linfeng, Ying Tang Chun Xiao, Zao Ying Bao Chun, Li Ying Fei Yun, Yin Shu Ni Chang, Zai Shui Yi Fang, You Yi Ying Lin, Nan Shan Guan Ying, Ying Luo Hua Gu, Ying Bin Zhi Lu, and so on. Yuyuantan Cherry Blossom Garden is the largest cherry blossom garden in North China, collecting various cherry blossom species. The garden has collected more than 40 varieties of cherry blossoms, totaling nearly 3,000 trees, allowing visitors to enjoy the sequential blooming of different colors and varieties of cherry blossoms throughout the park, continuously enhancing the viewing experience.
