Wave Valley, Jingbian Red Sandstone Canyon, is named Wave Valley because the patterns on the rock sand are like waves. The Danxia landform landscape of Wave Valley was formed during the Cretaceous period 96 million years ago. The sand dunes here are constantly soaked in groundwater, layered down, condensed into sandstone, and then shaped by crustal movement, running water and wind, forming various linear valleys, lane valleys, red cliffs and other unique Danxia landform landscapes, like time rings, earth fingerprints, recording the marks of billions of years of wind and frost washing the sand dunes, and recognizing the profound history and civilization of the Loess Plateau. The total area of the Danxia landform in Wave Valley is 2.5 square kilometers, with three tour areas: Flame Danxia, Red Cliff Danxia, and Earth Heart Danxia. 🎈Flame Danxia Flame Danxia, also known as Red Sandstone, is the earliest discovered Longzhou Danxia landform.
