NAMASTE NEPAL ~ SWAYAMBHUNATH TEMPLE

A trip to Nepal would have been incomplete if you did not make a visit here. Swayambhunath Temple is a sacred Buddhist site with many holy stupas and shrines and it is the most important religious site in Nepal. Unfortunately the skies were a bit cloudy when we were there, as we saw the iconic painted eyes and eyebrows on the stupa, we totally forgot about the weather and start exploring the historical holy site. Though it is also known as Monkey Temple, but I think we are lucky enough as we did not bumped into many of them. Walking around the temple gives us a sense of positive vibes as we listen to the chantings from the monks. Many come here to pray. It was really an eye opening when we see how faithful and respectful worshippers are when they pray at the temple. We were also lucky to have the opportunity to witness the local wedding ceremony happening at the temple. We wish the newly wed couple a blessed new life and happy marriage. There are also shops and restaurants around the temple.
