Libo's Xiaoqikong, where springs sing in the mountains

Legends say that half of the world's mountains are green in Guizhou. And it's said that half of the world's springs echo in Guizhou. Thousands of mountains and rivers surround, where gentlemen roam. The Tang Dynasty poet Meng Jiao once highly praised the landscape of Guizhou, and it was not until he set foot in Xiaoqikong that he truly understood. 1. Libo's Xiaoqikong is a famous scenic area located in Libo County, Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China. The name comes from a seven-arch ancient stone bridge built in the 15th year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty within the scenic area. This bridge spans the Shangshui River and is an important passage connecting Libo County with the outside world. 2. The Xiaoqikong scenic area is situated in the mountains south of Libo County town, covering an area of about 46.4 square kilometers. Within the scenic area, there is a long and narrow gorge that is 19 kilometers long and only 1.5 kilometers wide. The karst topography, clear streams, waterfalls, primeval forests, and rich biodiversity here compose a series of picturesque natural landscapes. Famous attractions in the area include the Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge, Laya Waterfall, 68-Level Waterfall, Duanqiao Waterfall, and more. 3. Visitors can take electric carts to tour the various attractions, and the whole process takes about 4-6 hours, which is quite a test of one's stamina. Be sure to rest up before coming, wear suitable sports shoes for hiking, and it's best to massage your feet at night.
