Chang'an Bridge in Qixiakeng Village, Ningbo, is a dream of a gallery bridge scattered across the countryside

Upon entering the central area of Qixiakeng Village in Fenghua, Ningbo, a paradise on earth, one can see a gallery bridge spanning across Junxi River, appearing both quaint and fashionable. This is the most famous ancient bridge in the village—Chang'an Bridge. Chang'an Bridge, also known as Happiness Bridge, is a single-hole stone arch bridge built in the early years of the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, about 280 years ago. The bridge is 18.7 meters long, 17 meters wide, and 5 meters high. Chang'an Bridge reflects the wisdom and aesthetic views of the ancients. The bridge deck is made of cobblestones and rubble, tightly connected. There is a wooden house built on the bridge, which serves as a great shelter for villagers from the sun and rain. Inside the house, there are three Buddha statues, representing Guanyin, Weituo, and the God of the Land. On the south side of the bridge, there stands an ancient camphor tree on each side, both requiring two people to embrace and green throughout all seasons, offering a pleasant view. To the north of the bridge, there is a Guandi Temple, where the incense burns continuously every day. Below the bridge, the water babbles, and the rock crevices are filled with lush irises, with peach trees planted on both sides of the stream.
