Tianzhu Mountain

Tianzhu Mountain, located in the western mountainous area of Qianshan City, Anqing City, Anhui Province, is also known as Qianshan, Wan Mountain, and Wansui Mountain. It is a part of the eastern extension of the Dabie Mountain Range (or called the remnant vein). Tianzhu Mountain presents natural landscapes such as strange peaks, strange stones, secluded caves, and canyons, and is known to the world for its majesty, strangeness, spirituality, and beauty. The vegetation in Tianzhu Mountain is lush, with a forest coverage rate of up to 97%. The negative oxygen ions known as 'air vitamins' are three times the highest national level I standard. The great poet Bai Juyi of the Tang Dynasty praised in the poem 'Tianzhu Peak': 'A peak of Tianzhu holds the sun and the moon, and the cave door locks the clouds and thunder.' Tianzhu Mountain has the only ultra-high pressure metamorphic belt in the country, with the largest exposed area and the deepest exposure in the world. It is especially known as the most beautiful granite landform in the world by geologists for its collapsed and piled up landform landscape, and is also called 'the leaker of the earth'. Literary scholars describe it as a 'mountain forest' and a 'stone palace'. In September 2011, it was officially approved by UNESCO as a World Geopark.
