The 99-meter-tall Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statue at Jiuhua Mountain in Chizhou, Anhui is breathtaking

Jiuhua Mountain, formerly known as Lingyang Mountain or Jiuzi Mountain, is one of the 'Four Sacred Mountains of Chinese Buddhism'. Located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, it is known as the 'Number One Mountain in the Southeast'. It is said to have been renamed 'Jiuhua Mountain' after the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai wrote in his poem 'Looking at Jiuhua Mountain to Send to Wei Zhongkan of Qingyang': 'Once upon the Jiujang River, gazing at the peaks of Jiuhua. The Milky Way hangs over the green waters, with nine lotuses blooming in splendor.' According to legend, it is the transformation site of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who is regarded in Buddhism as a symbol of 'great filial piety' and 'great vows'. ✨Highlights of the trip: ① Baisui Palace: At Baisui Palace, you can see the flesh body of the Ming Dynasty monk Wu Xia, which is one of the older preserved flesh bodies on Jiuhua Mountain. ② Flesh Body Hall: Contains the flesh body of the Tang Dynasty Golden Ksitigarbha, but visitors cannot see the true face of the flesh body; they can only walk clockwise around the stupa that houses the flesh body to pray for blessings. ③ Huacheng Temple: The founding temple of Jiuhua Mountain, with a long history, praised as the historical and cultural museum of Jiuhua Mountain. Here you can see the 'Avatamsaka Sutra' written in blood by monk Wu Xia. ④ 500 Arhats Hall: Next to Baisui Palace, 500 Arhats are enshrined, which is very spectacular. ⑤ Dayuan Cultural Park: Exit from the west gate of the Moon Body Hall, take the scenic car to the exit for the last stop of the day!
