Let's have a date with spring and the Ruyuan Grand Canyon

Guangdong Shaoguan hides a peerless beauty, acclaimed as 'the most beautiful canyon in Guangdong', with a total length of 15 kilometers and a maximum depth of over 400 meters. It is also known as the Guangdong Grand Canyon! It is a spectacular canyon scenic area, famous for its majestic canyon landforms and crystal-clear rivers. 🚗Transportation: You can take a high-speed train🚄 directly to Shaoguan East Station, then take a taxi to the destination. Or you can drive there by yourself🚘, which is about 2.5-3 hours from Guangzhou to Ruyuan. After getting off the highway, there are eighteen bends on the mountain road, passing through many farms and bamboo forests🎋. It's very comfortable to open the windows. ⛰Sightseeing: The tickets🎫 for the Grand Canyon are unified, but they are 10 yuan more expensive on weekends. The Grand Canyon is divided into three routes. The 1️⃣st one is the full 5km journey. The 2️⃣nd is a short cross of about 2km. The 3️⃣rd route is a leisure line suitable for bringing children. Since you're here, of course, you should challenge the full route. The towering and precipitous canyon and the emerald river snuggle up to each other like a fairyland scroll🏞. Along the way, there are many waterfalls and pools, with crystal-clear spring water reflecting the rocks and trees, it's like being in a fairyland. Yunmen Mountain⛰ is also a must-visit place, as a national 4A-level tourist attraction, Yunmen Mountain is loved by tourists for its steep terrain and long history and culture. The cloud-top waterfall, nearly 200 meters high, falls straight down with a majestic and deafening force. High-altitude glass bridge: Standing on the fully transparent glass bridge, it feels like floating in the air, with a sense of walking in the clouds☁️. Little tips: There are quite a few mosquitoes🦟 in the mountains, so be sure to protect yourself against them when hiking. It's a good idea to bring some dry food🍪 and water to replenish your energy. Wear anti-slip shoes, as the full journey through the Grand Canyon is somewhat challenging, with some paths not so easy to navigate.

Guangdong Great Canyon
Visit the Grand Canyon -- in China! Ruyuan Canyon in Shaoguan, Guangdong, also known as the Grand Canyon of Guangdong or Ruyuan Grand Canyon, is a massive gorge in Ruyuan County, a landscape completely unlike southern Guangdong. The head of the canyon features an impressive waterfall and there are many smaller falls throughout the area. Climb down a seeming eternity of steps to reach the bottom of the canyon and view the waterfall, and then hike downstream and along a box canyon before climbing back up to the top. The whole route should take 2-3 hours for fit hikers, but it's worth taking it easy and enjoying the stunning scenery. Except for the climbs down and up the gorgeside, it's an easy walk. Parts of the park have a bit of an abandoned feeling; besides there being few other hikers the day I went (mid-week) some of the park facilities are getting old. For example a funicular railway up the gorge side no longer operates (the stairs next to it are also closed now) but that was fine for me as I prefer as natural a setting as possible. There's a performance several times a day in which two stunt artists ride a bike across a tightrope over the canyon. It's well worth watching (and a bit terrifying.) There is a bus to the park from Ruyuan town (which is accessible from Shaoguan by bus), but it would be much easier to get here by car, in which case it would be an easy day trip from Guangzhou or Shenzhen. There are many other places to hike around Shaoguan, so it would also make a great weekend trip. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #hiking #waterfall #canyon #mountains #views #photography #guangdong #shaoguan #china
