Sanmen, the unforgettable small county

Sanmen County, under the jurisdiction of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the northeastern coastal area of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is bordered by Sanmen Bay to the east, Linhai City to the south, Tiantai County to the west, and Ninghai County of Ningbo City to the north. The total area is 1,510 square kilometers, including 1,072 square kilometers of land and 500 square kilometers of sea area. By the end of 2022, Sanmen County governs 3 subdistricts, 6 towns, and 1 township. As of the end of 2022, the registered population of Sanmen County is 446,000. Sanmen County is one of the first pilot areas for the construction of a high-quality development and common prosperity demonstration zone in Zhejiang, a pilot unit for the construction of the national rural governance system, and a national health town (county town).
