MO Bar experience

Had a staycation in Mandarin Oriental previously, so now decided to drop by MO Bar to chill and relax. Had their Thunder cocktail, which is inspired by the Hakka dish thunder tea rice. The actual dish itself consists of rice and different types of vegetables and usually comes with soup made of ground tea and nuts. According to the staff, it is supposed to taste citrusy and floral. It contains matcha powder together with gin from Brass Lion Brewery, topped off with glutinous rice foam to stimulate the colour of the green tea and the rice. It is then served with a side of peanuts and ikan bilis or anchovies. On top of that, they served nuts, potato chips and some water as well before the cocktail was served. Service was great as the staff did not give me dirty looks for only getting the cocktail, as I had a dinner appointment somewhere else after that 😅 Also loving the plush seat by the window so that I can chill and sip on cocktail🍸 and just watch the world go by (okay maybe watch also the day to night transition too 🤭) Hopefully I can get to try the Sarimook cocktail which looks really pretty next time! Heard from the staff that it is sweet and critusy with the really pretty edible rice paper with a colourful parrot motif on it. Or else the Full Moon cocktail looks really good too with the rabbit in the moon motif!
